Why is battery showing 12.5 volts wont start when turn key on it drops below 11 volts been on charger for hours is the battery bad? possibly some other cause?

Sounds as if battery is no good. Replace with a new battery and have charging system tested to ensure it is working properly

TRYING TO START CAR IT JUST CLICKS BUT IF YOU JUMP THE STARTER IT WILL START

sounds like you need to get the battery checked as well as wire connections between battery and starter. 12.52 is marginal as when you crank the starter the voltage probably goes below 10.0 volts and when you jump it the voltage is at the proper level to allow cranking.

2005 rodeo.clicking when trying to start..battery 100% checked all earths and starter motor alternator etc, but if you put jump leads on it starts.

Okay, so it clicks when trying to start which means it is not getting enough power from the battery, hence when you jump it starts. Most likely your alternator is not putting out enough juice to charge battery. I would check the output from alternator, ohm/volt meter if you have one, if not they are relatively cheap. Most parts store's O'Reileys is one that I frequent, will let you use a scanner to plug in while you are at the store which may show a code to the problem. Probably the regulator is bad, not positive but I believe it is internal in alternator. Hope this helps.

2012 chevy equinox wont start. cranks but it starts clicking

Sounds like maybe you have a weak battery... have you tried putting a battery charger on it or jump starting it? If you have a digital multimeter, check the battery voltage. It should be in the 12.0-12.6 volt range. If you can get it started by charging the battery or jump starting, and have a digital multimeter, check the battery voltage with the engine running. It should be in the 13.5-14.0 volt range. (All measurements should be made with the meter set to Volts DC).

Could not start a car. Got a jump - car started. Drove home. Stopped car. Started OK. Next morning the same issue - car easily started with jump. Got new battery 2 days ago - car runs fine, but mechanic...

The problem is more than likely a dead cell in the battery, Each cell in a battery is normally 2.3 volts, they will go over but when rested will return to 2.3 volts, with 6 cells it is 13.8 volts, car starts. 5 good cell is 11.5 volts, almost enough to start, any less not a chance, the starter will just click, cold weather is worse. A new battery will solve the problem

No start

battery is bad! check this: when car is running the battery voltage should be at least 14.3 volts or a little higher. when engine is off battery voltage should be at least 13 volts, if the voltage going into battery is below 14 volts when running then alternator is bad. if it is ok then battery needs replaced,

It only clicks when i turn the key, jump to the car doesn't help

You need to check your battery voltage. A good battery will show 12.4-12.6 volts. If a batteyr has a dead cell een a jump will not start it. If the batteyr is good then you need to look into a starter relay or starter solenoid failure.

the battery is only for getting the car started, when it is started the car runs off the altanator, if you were able to jump it and drive home but could not start is again the the battery might have a dead cell. and if you put a volt meter on it it will still read 12.6, but i bet if you put that same volt meter on the battery and turn the lights on it will go below 10 volts, if it does that the battery is no good.
