Question about 1991 Honda Accord

2 Answers

My 91 honda accord ex cranks and cranks and won't start. replaced the distributor, checked the timing belt...distributor is getting power but no spark is going to the spark plugs. Not only that but the timing belt does not move, the other belts do but the timing belt remains still when cranking. What could be the problem?

Could be a little more then a stripped belt, gotta find out why the belt stripped in the first place. Snapped belt? Could be an incorrectly installed cog, maybe missing moon key behind the crank pulley?

Timing belt is stripped, time for that. These models generally do not bend valves.

I have a 1998 honda accord ex 4 cyl .it shut off while i was driving. Its not getting any fire.I changed the disribator and still no fire.everything worksits getting gas.it just will not start

Does the engine sound like its turning over faster than it normally does?

When you turn the key on do all the dash light come on as they normally do?

Is there an anti-theft light on or blinking?

With the distributor cap removed, crank the engine and see if the rotor turns in the distributor. If it doesn't check to see if the timing belt is broken.

If it does turn check for power on the black with yellow wire in the distributor. If there is no power check fuse 11 in the fuse panel under the drivers side of the dash.

Let me know how that pans out. If you have any questions let me know.

1991 honda accord ex will not start was running and just stopped. code 41. no spark that i can tell. it will not restart. help

Remove distributor cap, crank engine, see if distributor rotor turned, if it don't turn, bad timing belt, replace, if it does turn, more then likely, ignition control module, if timing belt bad. made br will help you to set in bad on timing, when replacing timing belt, hope this was very helpful.

91 honda accord wont crank

There is a sensor under the left hand side of the dash that would not allow it to start, provided that you have replaced the electronic spark module inside the distributor first, which is what it sounds like it would be, When you say you replaced the distributor I assume you replaced it complete!

Check out this link. I just type you a long paragraph on here but i don't think it took. Anyway, It was the main relay located under the steering wheel. Same thing was happening and the car cranks fine after replacing it. 25 dollar part.http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=53888
