Removal Procedure

Installation Procedure

Important: The alignment of the structural oil pan is critical. The rear bolt hole locations of the oil pan provide mounting points for the transmission bellhousing. To ensure the rigidity of the powertrain and correct transmission alignment, it is important that the rear of the block and the rear of the oil pan must NEVER protrude beyond the engine block and transmission bellhousing plane.

SOURCE: FUEL PUMP FOR CHEVY SILVERADO

fuel filter? how about power to the fuel pump, loose ground wire to chasis? wiring harness? terminals clean at point of connection?did you check the fuel pump relay? Relay is located in electrical center under the hood on the driver side.relay and fuse legend will be on bottom side of cover, you sould be able to switch with another relay that you know works, ie: switch horn relay with fuel pump relay, honk horn to insure both relays are working when either relay is inserted into horn slot. Do you by chance have the electrical schematic drawing for the fuel pump?

Sounds like your oil pump is "getting tired". If you plan on keeping it for any length of time, you're probably going to have to replace oil pump. To replace you'll need to drain oil, drop oil pan and you'll find oil pump and pick up tube and strainer bolted to lower part of engine. Unbolt, slide out holding oil pump shaft in engine, slide new pump/strainer and pickup in place, bolt in place, reinstall pan and refill with oil.

Changed oil pan gasket now i dont have much oil pressure

If oil pressure was fine before you changed the gasket, it's likely that some debris was loosened up (probably under the pan baffle) and got onto the oil pump pickup, restricting flow. The only other cause of low pressure would be worn engine bearings, which would not happen just by changing oil pan, unless you messed with either bearings or pump while pan was down. Remove the pan and carefully inspect the pump pickup for debris!!! DO NOT DRIVE VEHICLE 'TILL YOU HAVE CORRECTED THIS OR YOU WILL DAMAGE BEARINGS!!!
