Did you replace the gaskets of the intake
sounds like you have a vacuum leak

    no sealers or adhesives

its not uncommon for 1st timers to do this
however, to confirm you have a vacuum leak you need "carb cleaner"

with the engine running and the RPM's high, spray the carb cleaner around the intake

if RPM's change then your diagnoses is correct

Why is the idle too high after taking off the plenum?

Sounds like there's a leak between the plenum and lower intake. Try spraying starting fluid around the base of the plenum while it's running. If the idle changes you have a leak.

High and sporadic idle speed. I just cleaned the IAC valve, put everything back together and now my idle is wack? Any ideas what it might be?

Hello my name is autoteck21 sounds like you dealing with one of two things. #1 Either you have a vacuum leak in one of your hoses or your vacuum box at the worst case one of your vacuum control solenoid. #2 Your idle air control module (under your throttle body.)
To test #1 take a can of brake clean or carb/choke cleaner and in small 2-3in areas spray little spots while engine is running listen too your idle for any changes (you will here the differences) if so there's your leak.
To test #2 find the little connector (2 wire) under your throttle body (when standing in front of your car lower front side under intake pipe hose clamp)

High idle o n a 1996 chrysler concorde. have change the tps and the idle air control valve. i think its a vacum line but i dont know which one. which one s effect the idle

High idle is usually caused by a vacume leak. First place to check is the cold air intake manifold. All hoses, throttle body, and sensors. Throttle Position(TPS), Mass Airflow(MAS), Idle Air Control Motor (valve) IAC. Controls Idle speed

A malfunctioning throttle system can cause both a high idle as well as an engine stall.

A dirty air intake or cracked air intake tube is often the culprit.

96 Ford Taurus, idle is loping a little and feels like it's missing. Changed plugs and wires, PCV, fuel filter, air filter, did a visual inspection for bad vacuum hoses. What method is easiest to...

check the throttle plate if its dirty the air flow through the intake will act like it has a plugged up air filter and the computer will try to keep the car running within the idle range by raising and lowering the idle trying to keep it at the programed spec in the computer.if its dirty clean it with intake cleaner and a tooth brush until its clean on both the front side and back and the area around it when the throttle is closed.if you had a vacume leak you probably would hear a hissing sound and the idle usually will rise and stay high as the computer sees this as the motor needing more fuel because the O2 sensors would show lean.you could have a bad map sensor or maf sensor depending on which system this has.you could also have it put on a scan tool to see what the readings are that the computer is seeing to know what to do next.

I have replaced my spark plugs. When my car is in idle it kinda does a putter and seems as if it's going to die. I thought it was missing a bit, hence the spark plug change. What could it be? Now after...

idle control valve check this and clean it, its on the air intake, valve opens and close when engine needs more air when it sticks it dont get the right air fuel mix. and stalls engine.

In my 2000 Saturn SL1 I am experiencing very high idle (2000 rpm warm - higher cold). I have cleaned the throttle body and the idle air control valve with no improvement. What next, replace the idle air...

You could try replacing the idle air control valve but I would obtain one from a local salvage yard, its cheaper and you are not certain if thats the problem, another thing i would check is your intake manifold gasket where it meets the cylinder head, if tha gasket is cracked or leaking it will allow excess air to enter the engine and make it idle higher, the easiest way to verify this is get a can of carb and choke cleaner and spray it all around the intake gasket area, if the engines idling characteristics change drastically then the gasket is bad and needs to be replaced if theres no change in the idle I would start looking for vacumm leaks and the idle control valve issue, which you specified.

98 Isuzu Trooper stalls on cold start, idle issues..

I had the same issue on my 99 Trooper.

It would usually start when completely cold, but idle around 2k RPM.
It would drive fine. But if I shut it down, ran into a store, and came back out, it would start but immediately idle.
Had to ride the gas a little to get it into gear.
The Check Engine light has been going on and off for 6 months or so.

I took this to my local trusted repair shop (no Isuzu dealers within 200 miles).
The diagnosed the light, and found that the Intake Gaskets were bad or leaking.
The idling problem was related to the car not being able to control the amount of air coming in.

They replaced the Intake gaskets by the next day, and I haven't had a problem since. And no more check engine light, which has been on half a year.

Here's some details from my bill:
(1) Intake Gasket set $107.95
Misc materials $21.00
2.1 hours of Labor

The total cost to me was $345.00, and I definately don't feel gipped.
