I had the same problem with mine, it did not pick up speed on the hills and max at 35mph on steep climbs. It ended up being a diaphram on the back of the carborator that does not come in the carb rebuild kit so you will have to find a carborator specialist in your area and see if they carry it. That diaphram controls the secondaries for the extra horse power needed for picking up speed and going up hills.

Why does my car bog down and wont accelerate up a hill?

Usually a sign of a fuel problem, either too much or too little.
Too much could be several problems including a clogged air filter, too little could be a weak fuel pump or other issue.
A mechanic would check fuel pressure and air flow first.

1999 MERCURY VILLAGER BOGS WHEN GOING UP HILL WHEN ONLY 1/8TH TANK OF GAS FILLE IT UP AND THEN STILL BOGGED FOR ABOUT A MILE THEN QUIT BOGGING WHAT CAUSED THIS

when a tank is empty there is no fuel for the pump and the system runs low on fuel pressure Going up hill the fuel runs away from the pick up line and the pump sucks air
After filling it takes a while to empty the air out of the system to allow full pressure again. It is an extremely costly practice to run so low on fuel as it may lead to a pump replacement

My 88 toyota camry wont accelerate when i step on the gas pedal

tests:

cruise at say 45mph ok?
if i accelerate , it bogs then catches up?
if i accelerate, it bogs and never catches up?
if i go WOT, wide open throttle it has full power up a hill after the bog?

these test , are the KEY tests.
this tells me what is wrong.
i hope the car is tuned up, if not , why no? the 60k mile done?

Would my leaking intake cause my blazer to loose power going up hills

Yes it would. Take a can of Brakleen and with engine running spray around intake manifold. If it is the source of your leak, the idle will go up.

Check mass air flow sensor. Also check cap and rotor for "tracking". Check coil. Have someone check codes...most "supermarket" type parts houses do this free! fouled injectors may cause similar problems but keep this in the back of your head for now.
