Question about 2003 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab

1 Answer

I have a F-250 6.0 Turbo Diesel. I has become very slow taking off but does fine on top end. I have replace both fuel filters and even had a new EGR valve put in. It also seems to lose some power under load or going up hill. ???

I have heard that the new turbo for these trucks was made for a cleaner fuel overseas. our fuel is dirty and clogs them which in turn would make it sluggish on takeoff. try finding a way to clean the carbon out.

My '84 Mercedes 300D Turbo diesel has become incredibly sluggish since i changed

that sounds like the fuel return hose on one of your fuel injectors. You should get about 2 ft of hose and replace all of them including the one in back that is capped and the one to the injector pump. Im guessing when this happens there is fuel everywhere?

COULD HAVE BAD FUEL WRONG TYPE FUEL COULD NEED NEW AIR FILTER. DIESEL ENGINE NEEDS AIR TO OPERATE.IF AIR FILTER RESTRICTED.DIESEL ENGINE WONT RUN AND CLOGGED FUEL FILTER CAUSE STARTING PROBLEMS PROBLEMS WITH TURBOCHARGER OR TURBOCHARGER ACTUATOR WOULD CAUSE ENGINE RUN VERY SLOW NO POWER ON TAKE OFF.I SAY PROBLEM IN FUEL SYSTEM OR AIR INTAKE SYSTEM.IF YOU HAD ANY OTHER PROBLEMS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL FLASH ON.

2000 jetta tdi is very slow i press on the pedal ,it doesn't move fast ,what should i do?

This is not an uncommon issue with these cars. The problem lies in the intake manifold. The EGR valve is right on top and allows for carbon build up. The intake needs to be removed and soaked overnight to break up the carbon. Once you take a flash light and look into the intake you will see the restriction. Once it is clean, it is like having a new car again.

Jag X TYPE Diesel Black smoke coming from exhaust on acceleration

i had this problem and thought the fuel filter oil filter needed replacing so i have just had a service done but problem is still there but not as bad. been told it could be the AGR valve or a split pipe going to it which recuirculates unused fuel back to burn again. therefore unspent fuel is coming out of the exhaust causing the black smoke. i am still looking for the answer aswell, hope this helps.
