SOURCE: starter

You'll find 2 bolts that attatch the starter to the trans. housing. Remove the wiring from the starter and the bolts, one of which is towards the top of the starter and one near the bottom.

SOURCE: Where is the factory amp

The amp relay is in the Relay/Fuse box located under the hood. The amp relay is the one labeled NBS which stands for Name Brand Speakers. If you are trying to install an after market radio in a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country, you may notice that no sound comes from the speakers. This is because the single wire that is connected to the factory radio sends a signal to the Bus which tells the relay to turn on - powering the factory amp.

I bypass this by running a wire from the red Acc power wire on the radio to the relay. Connect the wire to pin number 87 on the relay. When standing in front of and facing the van, pin number 87 is the pin, on the NBS relay, which is closest to you and furtherst right.

Are you looking to replace the amplifier? or bypass the speaker wires??

Usually factory amplifiers in vans are under the P/S Front seat. However they can be up under the dash as well (P/S).

If you're looking for it because it is not turning on - check the relay (as above).

Looking for a diagram of the power steering system for a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country . Missing a hose that comes out of a filter looking thing W/ 4 hoses, under the bottom center of the vehicle.

Go buy a 3/8 inch transmission hose (most stores sell it by the foot) and cut it to length then reclamp it. I just did this to my 2001 Town/Country tonight and it worked wonderfully! Hope this helps you!

Describe your 2001 Chrysler Town & Country Problem: when starting I hear a muffed click before it starts. I recently charged battery, This did not help. I have also noticed a corrosion...

First check all the connections and make sure they are clean and tight. I'm assuming you are saying that sometimes you just get a click and with repeated attempts it turns over? If so it sounds like the starter contacts have worn down. They are brass pieces of metal that degrade due to arcing inside the starter. If you look at the back of your starter you will see a metal cover held on by three small bolts. (6mm). You may be able to remove this cover with the starter still in the van. This is picture of the inside of a bad unit. The contact on the left is worn down because it is much thinner than the contact on the right. You can order the contacts from http://www.nationsautoelectric.com/densoparts.html
or you can opt to get a whole starter from your local auto parts store. Hope this helps! fdbe5cd.jpg
