Make sure the bulbs are good. if that is not the problem, check the connections on the lights themselves

Are the main stop lights and the 3rd deck stop light on the same fuse?

Usually not. Most vehicles I've worked on have had the brake lights and 3rd operate on 2 different systems, likely as a safety measure.

Sounds like the new system you installed is piggy backed off of the main brake circuit and popped the fuse.

Signal lights don't work properly when brake is applied

The power flow for the brake lights goes like this: Fuse ->Brake switch -> Turn signal switch -> Rear lights. The only difference is, if you have a 3rd brake light in your rear window, that gets its power directly from the brake switch. It does not go thru the signal switch first. So, if you are having a brake light problem, and your fuses are good, check the 3rd light in the rear window, if it lights up (assuming the bulbs are good, noone ever changes them), then the problem is most likely in the switch, hope this helps!

Look under the dash, on the brake pedal arm. There are one or two switches that activate brake lights and/or shift unlock. Check for loose mounting nut or a missing rubber nubber. Is the brake pedal coming all the way back up? Look on the floor for something not usually found there. These switches are adjustable and it may be as simple as adjusting them. Have a helper look for brake lights on and shift lever unlocked while you push and release the switches with your finger. Depress the brake pedal to get it out of the way. Remember to set the park brake first. Could just be a bad switch or loose connector. Check fuses and the bulbs. Is shifter fully in Park?

All this stuff runs thru the multi-function stalk. (the turn signal lever) It could be worn out.

Hello, Well there is not much more it could be unless you have a shorted wire or a burned fuse. I would normally think that the turn signal canceler was bad but the 3rd brake light will still work if that is bad so I would check all fuses and for bare or shorted wires.

I need to change the brake light but can't figure out how to get the cover off and it is not in the manual. Do you know how to get to the bulb to change it?

Most 3rd brake light covers are held on with 2 plastic screws located on the sides, or the cover is just a push fit, easily pried off with a thin blade such as a putty knife screw drivers sceatch it up badly

Brake lights don't work, one in back window works but ones on tail lights don't checked bulbs and fuses and they are okay

I would check the wiring to the 2 side lights, and make sure they are grounded or none has been cut or corroded. You have good power going to the rear if the 3rd brake lite is working fine so I would trace the wire from the 3rd brake light to where it splits and goes to the 2 rear brake lights...

Bottom brake lights and hazard lights do not come on. All other lights work including top brake lights. Fuses and bulbs checked.

Check for power out of brake light switch by brake pedal. Of its faulty , the 3rd brake light will still work. Hope this helps
