To replace a headlamp on a Saturn Outlook you need to access it via the wheel well. So jack up the car and remove the front tire. You'll see a collection of phillips head trim screws and plastic snap in panel connectors holding the plastic wheel well in place. Remove the screws and snap in connectors. To remove the connectors, pry the center button up with a small screwdriver. One it's up the whole connector should pop free.
Remove the wheel well.
Turn the black plastic cap on the back of the headlamp assembly 1/4 turn counterclockwise and it should come free. Now the lamp wiring and connector should be visible. Turn the lamp ~90 degrees and it should pop free. Test the bulb. More people have problems with the wiring connection and the bulb is usually OK.

If it is your out headlamp that is out, I found it easier to just take out the 4 screws on the side and the 2 on the bottom of the wheel well. You dont need to remove it. It allows you enough room to reach your hand in and remove the bulb.

Just to remove the low beam bulb. Yet another engineering wonder from GM. That's another reason I will never buy another GM vehicle.

i found that you can reach it bye on screwing the fourr 8m bots that hold the inner wheel weld. Once you remove the bolts just pull inner plastic fender away and you will be able to unscrew the outer retainer cup then unscrew bulb housing..

How do you change the headlights? Looks like you have to take apart alot of the front end body parts under the hood.

It should be easy actually. Look in that area behind the the headlights under the hood. You should see a locking collar that actually unscrews to allow you to remove the bulb and plug assembly. Once you unscrew that and pull it out you just unplug the old bulb and plug in the new one.

How to change a headlight for Saturn outlook for 2007

I have an Outlook that was burning through bulbs. The best way to change it, is to remove the inner fender well and it gives you easy access to the rear of the headlight assembly. It takes about 2 min and no skinny hands required.

Replace headlight on 2008 saturn outlook

I was able to replace this bulb via the wheel well. There were 4 small screws holding the liner on. I was then able to bend the liner back + turn the light bulb dust cover and remove it. The bulb assembly also had to be turned to pull it out. I then removed the wireplug. My bulb was intact + the wire connecting to the bulb was the problem. I simply brushed off some of the carbon residue from the wireset overheating. Then reattached it which worked long enough to buy a new wireset. I am very disapointed I had to do this basic repair on my fairly new outlook 500 miles out of a 36k warranty

2008 Saturn Outlook - How do I replace the low beam headlight? If it is not an easy fix, how much should I expect to pay a mechanic to do it?

This has to be done by pulling the bumper off. More then likely there will be a burned up harness (recurring problem with the 2008 Saturn Outlook) the cost from my Saturn dealership is $185.00 to replace the harness and bulb. Very poor engineering when you have to pay $185.00 to change a bulb.

Best method that I found is to just take the 6 phillips screws (4 in the well and 2 below the front bumper cover) out of the forward wheel well panel and reach in behind the panel to the headlight assembly.
