Question about 1989 Jeep Wrangler

1 Answer

Hi! I have an 1989 Jeep Wrangler 6 cylinder 4x4. I was going down the road last night and head lights, tail lights, dash lights, break lights quit. I do have turn signals. Fuse looks good!! All worked fine prior.

Look for a broken feed wire somewhere ,sorry i have no product knowledge to tell you where to look first ,but under bonnet is often a fuse box with the big main fuses that feed the fuse box inside the vehicle ,

Dash lights don't work 1992 jeep wrangler

try turning the headlight knob left to right several times, and jiggle the switch at night. Also check your fuse panel should be a 10 amp or less fuse that says "Insr" or something like it.

1989 jeep wrangler starts jumping and backfiring

Start with the basics...meaning check the spark plug wires and spark plugs. While under the hood, inspect all hoses for a vacuum leak(s). Then turn the ignition key on-off-on-off- on...leave in the on position and write down the number of flashes the check engine light indicates....2 flashes = #2....pause.....3 flashes = #3.
Let start from here. Are you able to perform engine repairs or diagnostics???

My interior, marker, and tail lights dont work when i turn them o

Sounds like a blown fuse....go through them and see which one is blown or check your owners manual..it will tell you what fuse is used for what and will save you on the guess work.

1989 jeep wrangler what are the vacuum lines going to my front axle?

Vacuum lines at front axle are part of your 4x4 control system. When changing oil or doing anything under the vehicle, always good to take a look at them and make sure they are secure, and in good shape. This eliminates problems while on the road.

1990 Jeep Wrangler Problem:

1990 Jeep Wrangler. Driving with lights on for 10 - 15 minutes. First the dash lights go out followed by the headlight and tail lights. If you pull the dimmer switch back (like you would to flash your brights at someone) the head lights will come on and as long as you continue to pull back on the dimmer switch the head lights will stay on bright.
