My 2003 explorer has 195000 miles, never had a problem.turned it off,sat for about 30 minutes, now it's missing like crazy

Sounds like bad coil paks and plugs. if check engine light is on you need the codes and it will tell you which plug and coil pack is bad. auto zone will scan it for free and tell you which plug and coil pack

These fuel pumps go bad on this model all the time could be bad fuel pump once they run dry they are done.also this model was known for faulty fuel sending unit card that reads fuel level. Did you try adding fuel to the tank?
