No, the steering on this car is defective. Take it back and demand that they fix it ASAP.

2004 2.1 Xtype jag that makes a buzzing noise from the steering coloum. I can here the noise as soon as i get in the car even before i have turned the ignition and the engine is still cold.

think its the climate control aspirator motor kicking in look at your fascia near steering wheel area rhd you will see a little vent listen closely to that the motor is behind there and they are prone to going noisy, i think they kick in soon as you wake the car up. hope this helps.

I purchased very similar here in the UK £4800 (trade) two years ago, only problem so far has been O2 sensor failure which I replaced myself but was still fairly expensive. Other than that car has been good. Check for Jag service history

I have a 54 plate jag xtype and the nsf headlight bulb keeps blowing, the most recent one lasted just 3 days, the one before lasted only 4 months. is it a wiring problem or a jag problem?

my best guess on this would be that there is some undue vibration on that light assembly or some moisture getting in ... do you change both bulbs at the same time? you may want to change the other bulb at the same time as this one just to see if this solves your probelm. That should be standard practice on all cars and not just jags ... I have a passion for Jags.

Jag xtype 2ltr diesel manual has rattle when clutch is depressed on when pedal travels to its extreme point ie floor. No judder or slipping just rattle is this OK

Sounds like release bearing or clutch fork pivot. Or could be clutch plate springs loose, but less likely. If it doesn't suddenly get worse, then it should be fine to drive. If you do get slipping, this needs immediate attention as you could score the flywheel.

Steering problem

Your power steering engine/ pully has gone bad. needs a replacement then.

Take care and do fix it on time before you get the steering rack damaged.

Good luck.
