Question about 2000 Dodge Caravan

1 Answer

Does the headlight wiring "plug' just pull off or is it held on by some sort of clip? I've been pulling on mine & it isn't coming off.

I need to see a diagram on how to replace headlight harness connector that is located inside the headlight on 2004 chrysler crossfire

Pull the rubber dust cover back you will see the electrical wires going to the bulb you can pull the old connector off from there it is not inside the housing, the bulb is held in by a small spring clip at the back of the bulb socket.

Location of horn on 2012 Hyundai tucson

The Horn is under the hood just remove the screws holding the radiator cover, I don't think it's necessary to remove all of them, just the drivers side, enough to be able to remove the headlight assembly. Then there's 3 bolts holding the headlight assembly, on top 1-10mm, & 1-12mm they are right on top, & quite visible, next underneath there is another 10mm bolt about the middle, in sideways, (check pix) just remove these, and the headlight elect plug (push down on the back of the plug clip to release) now, just sort of jostle the headlight back, & forward (but forward a bit more) while lifting it, and pulling back the loose radiator cover to clear, and it should come right out

HOW TO CHANGE A HEADLIGHT??

Pop the hood and look behind the headlight housing. There will be a pigtail wire connector plugged into the bulb. It will most likely have a retaining clip on the connector. Remove the clip and unplug the wire harness from the bulb. Once completed, there should be a round plastic retaining ring holding the bulb in. Some just twist and lock in place, and some have small torx bit screws holding the retaining ring in place. Either way, remove the round ring, then pull and wiggle the bulb out. (The bulb has a rubber "O" ring around it to seal out moisture, so you have to pull/wiggle the bulb to get it out) Some vehicles require unbolting the headlamp housing to get at the back of it. If yours is like that, there will be two LONG bolts right on the top, one on each side, most likely a 10mm head. Unscrew the two bolts and pull them out. Then just pull/wiggle the housing forward. I normally do this anyway since it's easier to get the round bulb retainer out when I can tip the housing to get at it unobstructed. When installing the new bulb, DO NOT touch the glass portion of the bulb or get anything on it. The oils in your skin will cause it to fail quickly. Hope this helps.

Headlight bulb change

Open the bonnet, look down at the back of the headlight, you will see 3 wires going into a plug which is surrounded by a large rubber seal.
Pull the plug out ( it plugs into the back of the headlight bulb ) . Once the plug is out, remove the rubber seal, it should have a tag to make this easier.
Under the seal there is a bulb holder, the bulb is held in by a springy piece of wire, one end if the wire clip has a small loop, push the loop toward the headlight and then ( with pressure on the loop ) move the clip sideways, ( there is a hook that holds the clip).
The clip will swing out ( one end will pivot ) and the bulb can be removed.
Do not touch the glass part of the bulb as the oils on your fingers can cause the bulb to blow prematurely.
Replace the bulb ,clip and seal ( the seal is marked TOP at the top) and plug the power back in.
Job Done!!
All the best , Marshall

HOW DO I CHANGE THE FRONT HEADLIGHT

Tools Required: Fingers
Parts Needed: 9006 (low-beam) or 9005 (high-beam) headlight/headlamp
Double check exactly which bulbs you need for your particular vehicle!
Estimated Time: 4-5 minutes per headlight
Cost: $49.99 for (2) Sylvania SilverStar "Ultra" High-Performance Halogen Headlights (better prices might exist elsewhere, I just wanted mine immediately so I paid full price)
Installation:

There are different ways to get to your bulbs, but I will tell you the way I like to do it. First you need to pop the hood. Your grille and chrome bar are held to your truck with I think eight clips. You can see the top clips if you look. First VERY GENTLY!!! start pulling your grille until you start popping those clips out. Keep an eye on your chrome bar, because it is clipped into the headlight. GENTLY pull on the chrome bar at the headlight until the clips come off, then work your way over to the other headlight. The goal is to be take your time and be gentle until you have all the clips released. Set your grille aside(be careful not to scratch it). Each head light has two metal tabs on top of it, the outer tabs are slightly hidden in the fender. If you pull these tabs up, it will release the headlight from the frame of the truck(be careful not to let the headlight fall out and scratch your bumper). Once you have the headlight assembly out, pop off the circle rubber cover on the back of the unit. Your bulbs will be inside there, and make sure you don't touch the bulb when removing it. Just reverse the process when your done changing your bulbs. Oh yea, don't forget to put the rubber cap back on the headlamp unit before you re-install it, Good luck.

1) Lift sliding tabs up to free the headlight housing
2) Pull housing forward
3) Remove rubber cap
4) Lift clip and move plug away from the bulb
5) Turn headlight base 90 degrees counter-clockwise and remove
6) Holding new headlight (by the base only!) insert bulb
7) Turn new headlight base 90 degrees clockwise until it feels firmly in place
8) Re-attach wire plug (slightly tricky if you have big fingers) until it clicks
9) Replace rubber cap over the hole
10) Briefly turn on headlights, check that the bulbs work, turn off headlights
11) Push housing back into place
12) Push sliding tabs down to secure the headlight housing

Good luck and this is for the trailblazer other then the SS, with the bar across the grill.

How to change front headlite on 2002 kia rio

Open the hood and locate the three bolts that hold the headlight unit in.
Use a 10mm socket and remove the bolts.
Now comes the only tricky part. You must pull the whole assembly straight out towards you with a ****. This will release the one attaching clip that is not visible. Don't try to pry the unit out you will just scratch the car or the lens. No he-man stuff either; you don't want to rip the wires out. A good straight tug should pop it loose.
Two wires only hold the light in at this point.
Next twist counterclockwise the turn signal socket and remove the bulb.
Now push the locking tab on the other wire/ socket and pull it out.
You should have the complete assembly in your hands.
On the back is a big round cap. Notice which way it fits. Turn it counter clockwise and it will come out.
Inside is the bulb. It's held in with a spring clip. Push the clip down and out from under it's holder and swing it up and out of the way.
Pull the old bulb out. Remove the wire plug by pulling it straight out, don't twist it.

How do you get the headlight and cornerlight assembly out of a 2002 Silhouette? There is one clip that attaches them together that I cant get.  Also, the corner lights are attached and can't get them...

The headlights are held down by two wing nut plastic bolt on top and the corner lamp is held on by one wing nut bolt from the headlight assembly. Remove the plastic wing nuts from the headlight and corner lamp, once all three wing nuts are removed, the headlight can be removed by pulling straight up and take note of the clips at the bottom of the headlight to where that will slide back into the body frame. The corner light assembly also just pulls straight out and take note to where the clips slide back into the body frame when re-installing the units back together. Take care not to pull to hard that you damage the wire harness, remember to disconnect the wire harness from the light socket at the back of the units. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to try to explain in another way if i didn't make sense. It's harder to explain then to show.

Changing headlight

Open the bonnet and look inside behind the headlight, there should be a plastic or rubber cover over the back of the light with 3 or 4 wires coming out of it, the wires should have a multi wired plug on the end of it, pull the plug out by the plastic multi point plug, don't pull on the wires. Remove the plastic or rubber cover and you should see 3 prongs coming from the rear of the headlight, that is the bulb, there are 2 spring clips that retain the bulb, push down on the clip and move towards the centre to release the bulb,
Change the bulb but take notice of where the 3 ppins on the bulb locate as 1 is a bit wider than the other 2 so it should fit only 1 way. put it all back together in the reverse order that you took it apart
