SOURCE: Rear Axle Removal

if you are talking about the axle seals, 1.REMOVE THE WHEELS.2. REMOVE THE DIFF COVER(slowly)3.REMOVE THE BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY.4.REMOVE THE 8MM PIN IN THE DIFF CARRIER. 5.TURN CARRIER AND REMOVE THE LARGE PIN.6. FIRMLY HIT IN THE AXLE, A SMALL RETAINING C CLIP WILL FALL INTO THE DIFF HOUSING. DO THE SAME WITH THE OTHER SIDE. ( be careful if you have rear speed sensors remove it when you remove the brake calipers . you will break it when you are pushing in the axles.)7.pull axles and replace seals

SOURCE: 97 toyota celica outer cv boot replacement passenger side

have you undone the main hub bolt, if yes, there could be two different items holding the cv joint on, one is a small circlip in the joint end, or the other is just like an expanding metal ring again only small. what i had to do to change my one was take the driveshaft out (easier to see whats there) then gently (rubber hammer) hit the CV joint it should then fall off to allow you to change the CV joint. I spent over an hour trying to get the metal ring off, then after taking driveshaft off it was changed and back on in ten mins. Or you can go to a motor factors or similar and get a boot puller, my opinion hammer works better lol

SOURCE: Rear Axle Seal Replacement

remove rear tires, then remove brake calipers and rotors, then remove the 4 nuts (each side) that hold the axle shafts to the axle tube (located around the axle tube behind the backing plate) then using a slide hammer pull the axle shafts out, next using a die grinder and an air hammer get he retainer collar and the bearing off (without damaging the axle shaft) then remove the seal and the outer race which will still be in the housing. next put it all back together, make sure the plate with the studs is still on then slide the seal, bearing, then retainer on (all new parts) and using a press push them all the way back on. then is simple reassembly.

SOURCE: Rear differential / axle noise and vibration.

A drive shaft that has lost a balancing weight will vibrate between 40 and 50 mph. If not corrected this could damage the input shaft bearing and seal on the differential causing oil leakage. Differentials are fairly indestructible but if run without oil will fail.
As for the front end you should never run the 4wd on dry pavement. The front differential is a posi traction unit that will turn both wheels at the same rate unlike the rear diff that will allow the inner wheel to turn slower than the outer on turns.

AWD. How can I remove rear axle?

Undo the outer axle nut, then undo the strut (two bolts) and fold the upright outwards. You can then get the axle put of the hub, then out of the diff.

Streering boot replacement procedures for a subaru

To replace the outer boot, the inner joint and boot must be removed as the outer joint usually isn't easy to separate from the axle shaft. The outer shaft or joint may be damaged if disassemble is attempted. As noted above, if the inner left side boot is torn, it can be replaced while on the car, just by separating the knuckle at the ball joint as noted, then pulling the axle off of the trans-axle output splines.

The inner tripod joint can be removed by removing or pulling back the boot at the joint and then removing the inner circlip that acts as a stop to prevent the joint from separating. With the clip removed, the tripod trunnion and bearings (free rings) can be removed from the housing. Its best to keep the tripod bearings on their respective pins and the bearings in the same races in the housing, so marking everything as you disassemble is important for joint life after reassembly. With the bearing assembly out of the housing, remove the external circlip that holds the tripod axle in place on the splined shaft and slide the tripod off. Marking position is again important to prevent vibration problems.

Now the inner boot, then the outer boot can be removed and replaced. Be sure to look for dirt or water in the joints, and repack with enough CV grease to provide lubrication, but not so much that there isn't any expansion space inside the boot. This may cause excess grease to be pushed out or the boot to dislodge. Reinstall the boot retaining bands with a proper crimping tool. Work the joints in all directions before reinstalling the axle, just to make sure there is no hint of binding. The joints should feel tight, but with no hitches, which could cause noise or vibration.

Where is the rear motor mount located on a 93 grand voyager

If your problem is rumbling drive axles , stop buying after market rebuilt axles. Forget the lifetime warranty. Buy only new Chrysler or Chrysler rebuilt axles for your car . After replacing my motor mounts and a dozen axles the manufacturer axles were the only ones that worked. I recall a motor mount at each end of the motor and one in the front (same vehicle). Checking my manual they do not show a rear mount on any of the motor sizes.

I have a 1991 grand caravan the right front half shaft keeps breaking i changed the shaft, caliper, rubber brake line, metal brake line.

Two things, if you get a vibration when you are decelerating( an indication of shaft problems) you may need to replace your 3 motor mounts. But more important, most aftermarket rebuilt shafts are junk. Buy only new or Mopar rebuilt axle shafts. Anything other than Mopar new shafts or Mopar rebuilt shafts(sometimes Mopar rebuilt can be bad too) and you are pretty much guarantying that you will be replacing the shaft again with in 6 months. I own a 1993 Voyager and have replaced a dozen axles. The problem stopped with the OEM parts. Forget about the lifetime warranty offered with auto store axles, unless you enjoy replacing axles.

How much does a grand voyager weight unlaiden,

Look on the drivers' door on the outer ledge below the door catch there should be a Manufacturer label with "GVW" in the top right corner which is the Gross Vehicle Weight of your vehicle. Do not use the GAW Front or Rear, nor add these together, as these are Front & Rear Axle Weights.

91 dodge all wheel drive

The only real differences between AWD and FWD are the transmission, rear axle and the driveshaft that connects them. There may be a different ECM for for engine tuning, but replacing the transmission and rear axle with FWD parts will accomplish what you want to do (transmission for your engine size). This is a big job, not for a DIY tune-up guy. If you just don't want AWD, remove the drive shaft to the rear axle.
