1 Answer

You don't have a 4.6 V8 on an L/S. That is a truck motor

You have a 3.9 V8

You remove the covers, on top off the valve covers with a 7mm socket,as well as the coil with 7mm.

Random miss on cylinder 5&and6, change the coil spark plug is still the same, any answer?

Changed the coils on 5 & 6 ?

They may not have been the failed ones at all

You may have all 8 bad, after they been in the
motor for 6 years or more

You can not go by obd codes for a cylinder misfires
on a Lincoln L/S

I have a 2004 L/S V8

I do not have the time to type all night & teach a class,
on how to solve that issue

All you can do is walk one new coil until you find the bad one
or several

If you ever go into ETC Fail safe-- do not replace the throttle
body-- it will be a bad coil

As you have tried to do--I have seen a PO300 codes indicate a failed coil

I have used Mode $06 on professional scan tool to find failed coils

I have had to walk a new coil & replace the old one & move to the next cylinder, until all issues were resolved

That car is unique to anything you will have to work on

What is code p2106 on a 2004 lincoln ls

P2106 ---Throttle Actuator Control System-Forced Limited power

I have that car -2004 L/S V8

----------listen carefully-------

It has Nothing to with That Code

It has nothing to do with the Throttle Body or the TACM on it

THE ONLY PROBLEM IS YOU HAVE SEVERAL BAD COP
IGNITION COILS

IF you can not find a dealer or local shop to replace ONLY
the failed coils & they probably hate that car & have no idea
of it's system strategy-- I will explain it all to you on the phone

I have had that car for 11 years & am well versed, well beyond
the factory service & diagnostic manuals & have had all those
unsolved problems-- no one knows about

You keep this to yourself:

When an ignition coil fails, it does so, when it wants to & under
no real specific condition

You cannot for the most part use any codes & only some coils
will show up under misfire counts on a scan tool

When they choose to fail- they spike the PCM (computer)
drivers & somehow you loose throttle plate position inside
the PCM Quizzer area

The 2100 codes you forget about-- as well as the PO300
codes-- you forget about & many other unrelated obd codes
on a ford

With the vehicle being driven by wire, when you have no throttle
recognition is goes into ETC Fail-Safe & you can only go 6 mph--
thus the code you got & do not need use

The fix is find & replace the failed cop coils or replace them all

All you need is a 7mm socket to get off the coil covers & remove
one coil bolt

NO reason at all not to work on it yourself

You replace the spark plugs every 3 years & ONLY use the
OEM plug number with is SPECIAL to the Lincoln L/S
& is an NGK only spark plug from the assy line & ford

Also you replace the oxygen sensors at 100,000 miles

You use only 5W-20 full-syn oil & change every 4,000 miles
Not 4,001

On the V8 you have to use 92/93 octane fuel--
it says so on the fuel door

Pcv 2004 lincoln ls v8 where

For the Lincoln LS V8, there is a flexable tube on the drivers side of the engine that runs from the valve cover/crankcase to the air intake tube. There isnt a PCV valve for this engine, it is just a tube for ventilation.

I have a lincoln ls 04 v8 3.9 the computer has giving me these code p2107 p2110 can some one help please

You have COP Ignition Coils Misfiring

They are bad enough to spike the PCM
and come back on the TPS Sensor and set
the 2107 & 2110 TACM Codes
(Throttle Actuator Control Motor)

You should have about 5 more codes

I just replace the coil packs in the 05 lincoln LS less than a year ago. If I get autozone to run a check on the car, will the codes come up as to which coil is bad?

I asked you get back to me on the other page.
You will have 1 or 2 COP Coils go bad every year
I also own a 2004 V8

Yes and no
I asked that you get the codes

PO301 thruPO308,the last # being the cylinder

If you get just a MIL Lamp and say a PO 303,you can
replace that coil and see what happens

The example I gave you on the ETC Failsafe, is not something a dealer
is aware of. People on this site have spent up to $4000.00 at a dealer
when my 1 bad coil, you install yourself, would have cost $70.00

You will get several codes that you ignore, on an LS and stay with the
coil swapping.

I hope you have a V8 or the intake will have to be removed to do some
coils.

You may want my phone #, so you can knock this down your self
Do you have a 7mm wrench and socket. That is all you need on a V8

To answer your question another way
If autozone gives you several codes,3 are coil codes ,then what?
I have the answer,it it not to replace all the coils.

Ignition coils setup for 2004 lincoln ls v8 3.9 engine

COP Coils
cyl 1,2,3,4 on pass side-front to back
cyl 5,6,7,8 on driver side -front to back
Remove coil covers on top of valve covers, 7mm socket and wrench
7mm socket and one screw holding coil
Codes PO 301 to PO 308 are your coil locations.Last # is cyl.
You get all sorts of codes, ignore all but the 301.302,etc
If you get an ETC Failsafe or shut down,a coil is spiking the PCM and coming back on both sides of the TPS and putting it into Failsafe. Still just a really bad coil. You will get about two a year.
