Disconnect positive terminal on battery, bridge the positive lead to earth for 2 - 3 seconds (this clears the codes) then reconnect.

Job done :o)

Corsa utility 1.4 failing to start and it is not giving a spark. it flashes the spanner light about 5 second after turning the key on please tell me what is the problem

Hello Sibusiso,

(From the 2009 Corsa Owners Manual)

Your Immobilizer system checks whether the engine is allowed to start with the key being used. If the transponder in the key is recognised, the engine can be started.

The electronic immobiliser activates itself automatically after the key has been removed from the ignition switch. If control indicator "spanner light" flashes when the ignition is on, there is a fault in the system; the engine cannot be started.

Switch off the ignition and then repeat the start attempt.
If the control indicator continues flashing, attempt to start the engine using the spare key and seek the assistance of a workshop.

See 2009 Owners Manual at the link below.

Opel corsa 1.4i heavy on fuel and producing rich black smoke

You must have a fault code test run first, that is the start point on all modern systems of engine control.

Has the system been scanned for fault codes? If not have that done first.

Tell me where does the thermostat of the opel corsa utility bakkie sits

If you follow the upper radiator hose to the engine usually you will find the thermostat housing it will most likely have two bolts . Make sure if you replace the thermostat to have a gasket and also some gasket sealer. Good luck !!!!

1.9 dti opel pick up wont start

It could be an Immobilizer fault, if the spanner /car light comes on.
If you have a spare key, try it
A Flashing spanner light normally means immobiliser fault hence the non-start. The spanner light left might just be an indication that it has stored the "wrong transponder" code.
Opel will have to clear this but you might need a CIM as well that is the bit that reads the key to allow it to start.
Try the spare key if you have one

On 1.7 DTi models, a defective solenoid in the pump can cause failure of the ECU due to excessive current draw causing components to burn out. but this *should* cause other fault codes to appear.

check the condition of the transmission oil . If it is not cherry red have it replaced. Run fault codes for faulty TCM unit or other sensors/servos for failure.

Warning light on opel corsa utility 2007, car with spanner, vehicle does not want to start at all, when i switch it on usually the petrol pump makes a humming sound, but no sound anymore?

engine is in safe mode. there has been a problem detected. you need to read the codes to find out what it could be an ob2 or code reader. could be o2 sensor or egr fault, but could be somthing eles.
