EV solenoide bad?

When you say EV are you refering to EGR Valve? Because a slightly open EGR valve will cause a 02 code to appear. Either way clean out the EGR or replace, as for the 02 you will have more trouble testing it when you can rather replace it3_27_2012_4_14_46_am.jpg3_27_2012_4_15_21_am.jpg

Just replaced my key the ignition switch and the esl in my c230 98 Benz. Worked for about a week and now the esl will not unlock the steering or start the car. Is there any way to reset the esl? All three components are new I don't understand the problem .what causes the esl not to engage when you put the key in the ignition

2005 Suzuki Forenza, check engine light is on with fault codes reading P0488 and P0496. Can't get a good explanation of what the cause may be. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

code P0488 exhaust gas recirculation closed valve pintle error ( EGR Valve ) most likely replace the valve.

code P0496 evaporative emission system continuous purge flow. could be many things, Gas cap, purge valve , purge canister, probably need to have this one check by the dealer.

I'm getting gascap error and check engine light. What's causing the issue?

If you allready checked the gas cap and its on right.
Try replacing the gas cap with a new one.
You should here air wen you open the gas cap after driving
This is part of the emision controls and if it dosn't seal it will cause the check engine light to come on .

EV code on 1998 SC1 saturn flashing not ready

there is evap sensor that maybe bad but check all your vacuum tubes going to the gas tank to see if they have cracks or holes in them. also a bad gas cap will mess you up.

Engine error lite P0465

Replacing the EGR valve, its actuator, or your DPFE sensor could all be at fault. I would probably start with the valve itself since it's an EGR leak code. Your gas cap was a wasted repair. The gas cap would cause a P0441 or 445 evap code, but not an EGR code.

2006 pontiac grand prix 3.8 supercharged, check

you probably have a problem in the evap emissions system and a superficial engine diagnostic @ a shop will likely confirm this. a loose gas cap is the most common cause for this, so it tells you to check it first in an attempt to save you a trip to the shop. if the cap is new and tightened past 3 clicks, then the problem lies somewhere else in that system. there are many parts in that system, so it probably would be best left to a shop to figure out exactly what the cause is.

Gas cap light

If the gas cap light is on and the cap is tight / was replaced, you probably have a leak somewhere else on the "EVAP" system. In short this is the system that monitors whether your fuel system is leaking fumes or not (environmental concern). The usual cause for "leaking fumes" is a gas cap that does not seal properly, but your leak may be elsewhere. Piping for this system runs from your gas tank, to your filler neck, all the way to the engine compartment of the car (to a purge tank and solenoid). This system also has piping that lets your engine burn these fumes at regular intervals. Most automobile service garages have equipment to check for leaks in this system.
