Question about 2000 Daewoo Leganza

1 Answer

2000 Daewoo just stop running in middle of road. When turning key sounds like fan turns but engine does not turn over. Just before stopping made a very loud noise as if something was hammering under the hood. Car did not indicate getting hot. Dummie lights came on: check engine, oil and battery lite up and then car stopped running. Had injector fluid sprayed in to carb and nothing happen when key was turned.Has only 56,ooo.oo miles. Prior had problems of over heating, new thermostat put on and flushed out with new anifreeze put into it 2 months ago. What would be the first place to check. Thanks Sandy

It sounds like the Timing Belt has broken causing major and expensive engine damage. Have it checked out by a mechanic to confirm this.

I have 2000 olds bravada with 4.3 l vortec. It just stalled on me driving down road.I turn key to listen for fuel pump, didn't hear it .What would make car not start? With no pump turning on?

maybe the pump is stopped from the fuel pressure being reached and the pressure switch turned it off
what would make the engine stop and not start is a broken timing belt/chain
widen your checks to include , camshaft turning, cam. crank position sensors , ignition control module , immobilizer

Sounds like the fan relay is failing, altho normally it keeps powering the fan as you turn the key off.
I suppose the spring could be weak and allowing the points to close.
I would change the relay and see what happens.

Toyota 2000 Sienna LE. Problem - Engine won't stop even turned the key off and pulled it out. A high frequency noise under hood and last about 20 seconds and the engine turn it self off. Only happened...

I had a similar problem with a Previa. It occurred when starting the engine. Turns out the starter would not disengage from the fly wheel. I believe that the starter was the source of the high frequency noise. Had to disconnect the battery cable to stop the starter. Replaced the starter and everything was fine.
Good luck.

Daewoo lanos year 2000 se electric rad fan has stopped working.

Find auto the temperature sensor , disconect the two wires and make a "jumper" between them, use a wire equal or with larger "diameter" (section) as the sensor wires itself. Turn the engine on. If you have already checked fuse and relay and you 100% sure they're ok the fan must start carefull with the fan blades. If not, you may disconnect the fan wires and supply energy straight from the battery. Be carefull again some sparks may come out and try not to short circuit the wires that may create another electrical/electronic problem, okay? Hope this can help...vmossmann from Brazil

Radiator Fan continuously running with engine off, discharging battery

It is not the fault: for long time Renault has that concept, that is to prevent engine oveheating when coolant circulation is suddenly stopped.

Radiator fan can continue to work up to 10 minutes after engine is off. You should worry about it only if it wouldn't stop even after 10 minutes.
