Question about 1998 Cadillac DeVille
I would first take it for a test drive and see if it over heats. Next I would leave it running and check the exhaust for a water discharge if so it is only worth about 500. these are all signs that the head bolts have failed. To fix this problem requires removing the engine and taking it to a mahine shop so that the head bolts can be drilled out and helicoiled.

I bought a 1997 Cadillac Deville Limo for $2800 on Ebay as a first contact.
I would pay about that much for a 1997 Cadillac Deville with 115,000 mi. on it which is similar.
