I have a new key cut and the security comes on. What can I do?

This key now needs to be programed to the anti theft system, make sure who ever made the key knew what they where doing and gave you the correct key with chip, heres how to program the new key.
step1) insert old key in ignition and turn ignition on but dont start engine, after 3 seconds turn key off and remove.
step 2) Within 10 sec, insert new key and turn ignition on the same as before, security light will light untiul key is learned . when light goes out remove key within 10sec, of light going out, this may happen so fast you never see security light light up , so when light goes out remove the key, leave key off for 15 sec, then try it. hope this helps. note, if you wanted to program more keys you would just keep putting them in within 10sec of removing last key, following directions of step two. when done then turn key off for more than 15 sec, and the relearn is shut off,

If your old key has a chip in it,then the dealer ship will have to code it.If not,try relearning the key to the ignition,turn the key on,leave it on 10 minutes,then turn it off,and right back on,do this three times,a total of thirty minutes,if this was at all helpful,please rate,thank you.
