Check the starter relay,I believe it is on the passengers side near the radiator,or in the relay/fuse box under the hood.Check the battery cables and battery terminals to make sure they are clean, and the battery is good.If this was at all helpful, please rate thank you,

Possible starter failure if the engine doesn't crank. You can try tapping on the starter motor using a blunt object while turning the key to see if it starts. If it starts, suspect a defective starter motor. If it is a manual transmission, you can push start it in gear

Replace old starter with new but still car won't start

Have you checked the stater solenoid (located on the top of the starter motor) wire for 12+ volts when the key is held in the crank position, do that first, you may have a defective starter switch.

2004 buick rendezvous sometimes won't start. clicks but won't turn over. replaced starter, battery, and ignition switch. what now??

We just went through this with our 2003 Rendevous. Clicking like crazy but wouldn't start. Replaced the starter but still doing the same thing. Our next step was going to be replace the battery (which tested well) and the ignition assembly. Out of frustration, I hit the top of the hood and the headlights came on!! Further investigaton proved that the problem was a corroded ground wire on the battery. Hope this helps

You may have the wire from the key switch on the wrong terminal.
If the car has an anti-theft system the key lock may not be reading the chip in the key.

It sounds like a fault in the starter circuit. It could be a defective neutral safety switch, starter solenoid, or possible a defective ignition switch but I doubt it. Can you hear the starter solenoid??? I'm willing to bet the problem is either with starter relay, neutral safety switch, or starter solenoid.

C230 Key Won`t Turn the car only went i use 14.3V

The starter is turning only when the solenoid close the contact to deliver the current to the starter . When this happens it then turns the bendix to engage with the flying wheel to start the engine.
The reason that you need higher voltage to have correct needed current going through the contact of the solenoid, hence the starter. The contact is corroded or rusty due to high spark at high current at every start time causing high resistance. V=IR the R resistance of the contact now is high so it need higher voltage (14.3 vs, 12.8 V) to deliver the same needed current for the starter.
Unfortunately, the solenoid is integrated with the starter, so you can not just replace the solenoid without replacing the starter.
If you can find the new battery holding at 14.3 V as you mentioned, then that is an economical solution since replacing the starter is costing more.
BTW where can I find the battery at 14.3V in case my friend's car has a same problem?
