Question about 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
That depends on which engine it has. it is possibly integrated with the crank sensor which will be on the passenger side of the engine by the lowest pulley for the serpentine belt.Some other motors have them in the hole where the distributor used to be on earlier models.

The knock sensor is located on the back side of the engine toward the fire wall .It is very hard to get to unless the car is on a rack up in the air :)
