You might want to try your local library. Many libraries have do it yourself books online. The pitman arm is the "bone" type part from just below the steering box to the rods. each end is a ball joint. Just a matter of removing nuts from the pitman arm and prying them off. They may need a little persuasion to come out they they will eventually. Good Luck.

Can I use a 97 GMC Jimmy brake booster to replace a 98 GMC Jimmy brake booster? I'm buying a vehicle and need this part but found a 97 way cheaper than the 98 and they look the same! TIA

I don't if that differs between manufacturers? I looked at rockauto.com for your brake booster, cardone part for your vehicle lists 97--2005 for your vehicle, brake booster.
If all the hook-ups are the same as the one your looking at, I don't know why it wouldn't work?
You know how it is, I see nothing from here.

Why do my all my lights work on my 2001 GMC jimmy except my low beams.

Replace the turn signal switch. All the exterior lights run threw it except the high brake light. There is a small plastic clip/switch in it that controls high and low setting. Because of heat it starts to melt and quits working.

I have a 98 GMC Jimmy. I have the part to replace the heater actuator door. The problems is I cant get the oval shaped hole to slide onto the shaft.

If you plug the new part in. Turn your heat or defrost selector on with the key on engine off. This will able the actuator to move and line your hole up to your rod. Once its aligned slide it on and bolt it into place.

I found a 98 jimmy for $1600 its got 175,000 miles tho any kind of on going problems with a 98 with this kind of mileage? cuz i got burned with a 98 blazer, had problems with everything from transfer case...

Its the same thing except it says GMC on the front. The most common issues with either of them is ABS problems, wheel bearings, ball joints, intake gaskets, plugged heater cores, injector issues, fuel pressure regulators, fuel pumps, catalytic converters, wiper motors, window motors, 4x4 issues, and the list goes on.
