Question about 2005 Lincoln LS

1 Answer

2001 Lincoln LS. A/C problems. My a/c problem are similar to other i have read. My A/c will cool very nicely for 10 miles - 15 miles.... then it start to blow very hot air on the right side. Sometimes if I accerate rapidly, it will begin to cool. Then, It will start to cool on the right side and blow hot air on the left side. I took it to the Ford place and they want $1200 to fix the compressor. I stand that the compressor can not be bad and work as well as it does at times. Help please.

I would take it to a shop, not the dealer, have them add 12 oz of freon, see if this does the trick, they will do this if they are a little low.If this does not help, have the shop check for vacuum problems to the ac control head.If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

2002 Lincoln LS overheating

Hi there:Are you check coolant level? Also, there some TSB about some vehicles Lincoln LS 2001-2002 may exhibit an engine overheating condition and/or the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) may also be illuminated with codes P1285 and P1299 stored in memory. This may be caused by an inoperative Hydraulic Cooling Fan (HCF). Ask your dealer about TSB Article No. 01-21-11 / 10/29/01.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

My airbag light is on igot a 2001 lincoln ls it fashes 3 times then a pause and two more times it does this cycle about Five times

Is it probably the Sensor on the Steering wheel itself. I know because I had this very same problem. Chances are highly likely that if you attach a computer to your car for an error read me. You will get the code which says your steering wheel panel is faulty and needs to be replaced. This thing costs about $600 Dealer. If you can get a nice good looking one at the Junk Yard. Go for it. By the way keep a good eye on your Coil Springs for your spark plugs and your Valve Cover Gasket. These lincoln LS's have Redefined parts for these problems as per Ford.

Very common problem is about a dime size hole wearing in the rubber elbow on the PCV valve located on the driver side rear of the intake manifold.

2001 Lincoln LS coil replacement

its not a easy job, but you need to get the gasket so it wont leak, theirs some tutorials online, if you dont want them to burn out, dont put the covers back on when you change them, it creates a suction and heat which makes oil spill and burn the coils

It is on the Driver side of engine in between the COP's (Coil on plugs) simply unplug the wire use a 19 or 3/4 deep well socket and unscrew it and put it new one... The whole process should only take 10-15 minutes.
