Question about 2001 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab

Open Question

How to remove a headlight from a 2001 nissan frontier. It is on the driver side. I have removed the top right (facing the front of the truck for orientation) bolt and the bolt on the left side. It feels as if their is a bolt holding the assembly on the bottom but I cannot locate it.

SOURCE: how 2 change head light bulb on a 2000 z24

To change the bulbs in the headlights,(on a 2002 Z24) you need to remove the plastic splash cover the extends the width of the car over the headlights by removing the plastics pins that hold it in . Pull up on the center of the pins to remove them. Once the cover is off, remove the two bolts that hold the headlight in, then place a screwdriver into the slot for the parking light lens to pop the clip loose that holds the lens in place. The headlight assembly can then be removed, once the wire harness is unplugged from the bulb. There is a round retainer that locks the bulb into place. Rotate the retainer counter clockwise and remove the bulb. Don't touch the bulb surface as oil from a person's hands can cause premature failure. Just reverse these dirctions to reinstall the rest of the parts. This may sound difficult, but it really isn't. I hope this helps out some fellow z owners.

That should be right if it is an idler pulley. On belts that do not have idler pulley you will have to loosen lock bolt on adjuster. Like alternator

Remove headlight assembly from a 2001 Dodge Ram

On the upper grill side of the headlight assy. there
should be 1 or 2 push pins that hold the seal on the
headlight assy to the front of the fender. Also check
for a guide/push pin on the inner top of the assy on
the outer fender side. That should be all there is to
hold the headlight in place. Hope this helps.

Adjusting 2001 nissan frontier headlights

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

If you have one adjustment screw, it will control your vertical aim. If you have two adjustment screws, one will control your vertical aim and the other will control your horizontal aim

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

Grand prix headlights

Hi,
Hope you have solved this by now but if haven't here's how. There is a bracket on the back of the assembly that helps hold it in place. After you remove the two bolts on the top, you must slide the entire assembly (facing the vehicle) to the right for the drivers side or to the left for the passenger side. The bracket has a little lip and a tab in a slot on the inside toward the grille and they only go in one direction. Don't **** on it too hard or the bolt clips will scratch the paint off the bumper. Good luck!

Changing healights

I had to change my bulb on the same side of my 2001 sentra. I ended up taking the whole headlight out to get to the socket. It was a little more work with removing some of the front bumper parts, but well worth it to have a headlight! If you go this route, make sure to buy some new plugs to hold the bumper parts on - they are one-time use only. Take one in with you to make sure you get the right size, and you should be good to go.
