Hi,
Check engine light is an indication that there is something wrong with the car. You might not have driveability issue right now, however if you are planning to go to a trip next week, i would suggest to get the car scanned for error codes. That would give you an indication what is exactly wrong with the car and then you could easily make a decision when you wanted to get the car fixed ( it could be a small issue as well ).

Good Luck!!
Thanks!!
When the light comes on, stop at a parts store before you shut the engine off, like AutoZone, and have them plug in and check the code that shows up.
Once they get that, you'll be able to google the code and find out what it's related to, and then if you post back here, we can then determine if it's a serious problem or something that can be overlooked for awhile.
If it's under warranty, why not just take it to a dealer and have them check into it?
Many parts stores will check your check engine light for free, you just have to find one in your area. Once you find out what the actual problem is, you can google the code they give you and determine if it's a serious problem, or something you can get away without fixing until you get back.
The code will be something like Pxxxx where "x" is a number, such as "0400".
As an example, code P0195 is "Oil temp sensor malfunction". Which, of course, means to check the oil temp sensor and associated wiring.
Thanks. I found somewhere that turning the ignition on/off three times would reveal the code number...in the speedometer readout, which happened to be P 0406-"Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor a Circuit High". Now I have absolutely no idea what that means but I am better off submitting it to the service person, hopefully under warranty. Thanks for your help.
The suggested fix for EGR codes is usually to replace the EGR valve, and clean the passages. The dealer may recommend another course of action, since they'll be the ones paying for the service.
Good luck with your Caravan!

That is the transaxle i.e. transmission warning light. First step is to check the fluid level. Follow instructions on the dipstick. If fluid is ok, and light is still on, have someone pull the computer codes. Most parts stores can do this, usually for free. However, a Dealership or good transmission shop can tell you exactly why the light is on, but they will charge you for that.
