What could the codes po170 and po401 have to do with my 1995 Toyota Camry it will start but will not drive ?

p0170 is fuel trim malfunction, check your oxygen sensor voltage first,if it tends toward to 0.8 voltwhile the engine is hot the car will rattle and souns like it will cough.p0401 is engine exhaust recirculation problem,go check there is a hose connect to your exhaust header, take it out clean inside the tube, then put it back in and reset the engine code by unplug the ground wire of battery terminal,if the code is gone.the problem fixed

1999 check engine light on code po170 , start car up and sometimes get hesitation when stepping on gas, ??

PO170 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1)

I'm going to guess you do No Preventative
Maintenance what so ever, or know what is needed

The Oxygen Sensors get replaced at 100,000 miles
or when they fail or when their switching times & data
are not as it should be

Spark Plugs-every 3 years

It costs money to work on a vehicle to learn how things are
& collect needed data, when it appears to get you places
with no issues, then you have problems & lots of them & no
record of when it did work correctly

O2 Sensors are big part of fuel trim-- IF-- you have no vacuum
leaks or cylinder misifres

An old blocked exhaust converter can be a problem

I would:
Replace the spark plugs
Replace all O2 Sensors
Clean the MAF Sensor
Replace any cat over 12 years
Check Fuel Trim
Check to see all 8 Emission Monitors run-- on a long 25
mile road test-after other work is caught up
EGR -issues
Exhaust Leaks before converter
Evap System-Leaks

Have to check & test it all-the entire vehicle
BEFORE -you replace the cat

I have a P0170 code on my 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. I have replaced the MAF sensor and the code came on again after driving 80 miles.

PO170 has nothing to do with a MAF Sensor

Don't you Google your codes & find out how to diagnose things?

Codes only point you to the system with the fault

They have very little to do with replacing parts

You need to look at fuel trim with professional
test euipment

1997 subaru legacy 2.5 emission code P0170 fuel trim 1 ,2 . how due you correct this?

If I am correct the po170 code is a lean condition. Usually this is caused by a cracked air duct leading to the air filter. Or the air filter box is not secured properly. I work in the service department at subaru and when we do big services we dont get the air box on right and customers return with a check engine light with the same code and we always find that the air box is not secured. This does not mean this is the issue, for a fuel trim code could be other issues, but I would definately look at this first before getting into a/f sensors, converters and all those other expensove items.
