Question about 2005 Saturn VUE

Open Question

I have a 2005 Saturn Vue, I have several problems going on at once, but would really like the answer to this one, it is driving me nuts! The overhead lights are going on and off at the same time the door locks are clicking! I can't drive at night because of this. I thought it might be the anti theft system and was going to unhook it or pull the fuse, but I can't seem to find it. Where is the antitheft system located and how do I disconnect it to see if it fixes the problem.

IT COULD BE MANY THINGS BUT i FOUND THAT THE COMPUTER WAS BAD IN MINE AND ALSO THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WHICH IN LOCATED BEHIND THE FUEL INJECTORS AND ABOVE THE STARTER.
I WOULD CHANGE THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR FIRST.

Refer to the owners manual and remove the fuse for the security system. If there are other necessary features tied into the fuse, then you will need to locate the security system control module under the dash or on the firewall, and disconnect or cut the wires leading to it.

Non-start situations basically boil down to two things: No Fuel, or no spark.

I you are looking to throw a part at it, start with the crank sensor. They are cheap and not too hard to replace.

A full diagnostic approach would be to determine if it was a fuel or a spark problem. Check fuel pressures with a fuel pressure test guage: Low fuel pressure indicates a bad fuel pump or a bad fuel presssure regulator. Lastly on the fuel side, check t see if the injectors are getting a signal to fire, usually done with something called a noid light, I believe.

Spark diagnosis begins with first determining the condition, then finding the cause. Bad coil, loose wires, even the crank sensor are all suspect. A good repair manual with a flow chart is probably the best procedure to follow.

In my case, my manual only had a passing reference to the crank sensor and no diagnostic procedure to test it or even lead me to it. I found the solution through extensive web searches. Once I replaced it, all was well.

That is an axle nut. It only hold s the axle into the hub assembly. 130 ft/lbs. Remove the caliper. 2 15mm bolts remove the caliper. The rotor should be loose. If there are star clips on 1 or 2 lug studs, cut them off and discard. These are for initial production only.

my wife locked her keys in and it is the only set. we have a 1994 ford explorer eddie baure edition. it is equiped with an anti theft system on it . if u or someone else has jimmyed the lock on one of the doors that may be your problem. on the lock is a senser and if that senser is not on there then the alarm will go off every time you open that door. so you have to take the door panal off and put it back on. if you don't know how to put it back on then take the opposite door panal off to see how it goes on. hope that helps you out

these are actually nut plates and are riveted or molded into the plastic. once these strip from their bases there really is no easy way to get them out. I deal with these all the time in the aviation field.

look under the hood it show you how the belt goes,what you do is find the wheel thats pushing down on you belt,on that wheel you see a nut take a wrench and pull backward until you see your belt is loose,once its loose take it out put new belt in the same way ,you will see a picture of your belt on the inside hood.

Check engine light is on and cooling fan runs entire time car is running on my '05 Saturn Vue Have already changed the coolant temp sensor (code that keeps coming up) could it really be the O2 sensor...


curious to know if you got this solved. Guessing downstream o2 sensor. did your vue idle high? act like it was getting too much gas? Let me know please.

Im having a problem going into reverse and 2 and 4th gear but 1st 3rd and 5th gear is fine i have a 2005 saturn vue with 80,000 miles on it i really have to use both hands to feed the stick into thoose...


Sounds as if you may be having a problem with the clutch. It could be that the clutch plate is worn out and no longer disengages from the flywheel completely.

Take it back to the dealer and advise them you want it fixed. It sounds like the timer switch for the headlights. the dealer should fix this for free.

2005 Saturn Vue AWD 6 cylinder whistle


Hi all,
I currently own a 2005 saturn vue and also a 2002 saturn vue. My 2005 began making the same whistling sound around 36000 miles, I let it go and let it go. Finally it got so bad I could not deal with it any longer, I have a great mechanic and he automatically point out the carrier bareing I had it replaced and my car is very very peaceful...... :) Hope this helps.
