Don't these codes indicate a possible problem requiring repair of a part and not just reprogramming? I have cleared the codes only to have them come back the same codes again. I am using a SnapOn Solas Scanner to perform the code checks.

    Thanks,

    Lou

I feel the answer was incomplete and the partial solution did not solve my problem I understood that the Codes presented a potential problem with a part. I have cleared the codes and they come back the same codes after test driving.I am using a SnapOn Solas scan tool. Can I reprogram the brake module with my scan tool or is this a dealer only process? Lou

I found no wires damaged. However the vehicle appears to have recently had two new front wheel bearings and ABS sensor installed because they come as a package. If this application was not performed correctly, could that possibly be what is causing me to get these codes? I don't have any history on this car. It was purchased at an auction and I am repairing it for a dealer. That is why I am having to shoot in the dark. I have tried every thing that I was advised to do but am still getting the same codes.

    Lou

Hi,

The trouble codes are for the left front and right front wheel speed sensors. You should open your hood and in front of the engine on the drivers side under the air filter box you will see a silver tube shape object which is the air condition dryer. Look for your main wiring harness that pass near it. The harness can rub on the dryer and cause many different electrical problems including abs problems. If you see the harness rubbing on the dryer you can move the main wiring harness with your hand to see if there are any cut wires. If they are then you will need to repair the wires that are damage and reposition the harness to it will not rub anymore. This is a common problem with the pontiac grand prix.

Good Luck!!

Thanks!!

    Thanks for your response!!

Have you checked the wheel sensors?

Access the plugs at the wheel speed sensors and verify resistance is 800 -1600 ohms and voltage should be 100mv while spinning the tires. So you will need to lift each tire one at a time and check ac voltage while spinning the tires and do a resistance test and whatever one is off needs to be replaced.

Regarding the application, it would be tough to comment as we do not have the history of the vehicle.

Make sure that the wire connector's are not loose.

    Good Luck!!

    Thanks!!

Hi. error codes that you have there says that you have a problem with the ABS & tracntion control sensor. Re-programing the electronic brake control module will resolved the issue.

Abslight stays on. How to fix? This is a2007trailblazer?

First you need to have EBCM - electronic brake control module check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . If the light is on there is a code stored . I think most part stores can do this and for free . After you find out what code is stored , looking up that code in service repair information for diagnostic trouble shooting chart would be next step . There are a few codes too.
DTC C0035 or C0040
DTC C0045 or C0050
DTC C0110
DTC C0131
DTC C0161
DTC C0186
DTC C0196
DTC C0201
DTC C0240
DTC C0241 or P0856
DTC C0244 or P1689
DTC C0245
DTC C0283
DTC C0287
DTC C0290 or C0292
DTC C0455
DTC C0550
DTC C0558

Find the code do the diagnostic's , fix the problem , wiring issue's , a sensor , bad module ,what ever it is . The light will go out then . Here is a sample of code discription .
• DTC C0035 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit
• DTC C0040 Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit

Traction control light coming on on my 2005 pontiac grand prix gtp on first take off

No different than the last vehicle problem you had

Need to check for codes & diagnose the system with
the fault & find a problem & make the repairs

Trac Control is part of the ABS Braking System & may need professional tools, to get that modules codes,so save your time for free checking at the parts store, to be told nothing of value there

I have a 02 grand prix the abs light and trac off light came on and when i push my brakes half way down it makes a grinding noise got codes c0040 and c0245 from auto zone what is the problem please help i...

c0040 indicates right front wheel sensor, so problem is more than likely sensor or wiring to it. c0245 indicates wheel speed sensor frequency error. This confirms wheel sensor or wiring.

Will be located near the wheel hub. As long as there is no physical damage I would guess you will be replacing the sensor

Abs light on and traction control light on

On most vehicles with traction control, the abs system monitors it. If there's a issue with the ABS, the traction control wont work. Check sensors on all 4 wheels and make sure they're not cracked or broken
