Question about 2001 Saab 9-3

3 Answers

I am replacing the blown front door speakers in my 2001 9-3 convertible with premium sound system. The speakers are stamped 4 ohm. I believe they are subs based upon what I have been able to dig up. Can I just use a standard 6.5" 300W 4 ohm sub like the Kicker 10CVT654 subs to replace them or will the amp not handle them?

Actually the door speakers( less than 50W) do not need high wattage speakers as they are mainly powered from the head unit. Unless you are powering with a power amp a speaker of 300 watts is not required. But if the mountings are correct , the impedance of 4 ohms is correct, then it will fit OK and work. The only main issue will be the sensitivity issue of the speakers to work with a low output.
I have considered that a highly sensitive speaker( small voltage response) will sound great like an expensive power amplifier and high wattage speakers. Jensen had some good ranges in the 80's but now we have hard suspensions with poor response.
So my final suggestion is if powered from your head unit test it , there is no damage but if there is a response problem if you are a soft listener. Other wise there is nothing to worry on as the amp will handle except your listening pleasure.
So test to decide. Credit me if this info is helpful.

Can you replace a stock amp with a after market amp without rewiring speaker 2001 sport track

It depends on whether you have the standard audio system or a premium sound system. The standard system has no factory amplifier, the premium system has a factory amp and some other gimmicks that are hard to interface with. A proper OEM amplifier upgrade will require changing the factory speakers with stronger replacements, as well as adapting the factory head unit output to a signal your new amplifier will like. More often than not, it is more economical and better sounding to just change the factory speakers and run the replacements off your factory system. To drastically improve the sound system, it is more effective to just change everything.

What factory size speakers come in a 97 yukon

They vary. Most Yukons and Tahoes had standard 6" (or 5-3/4") front door woofers and 1" tweeters in panels on the door switch clusters in 2-door models, and in 4-door models, those plus an additional pair of 6" (or 5-3/4") 2-way speakers in the back passenger doors, and in 2- and 4-door models with the premium sound package, they also had 4X10 oval speakers in the rear roof by the cargo door(s). These 4X10's were 3-way speakers.

2007 Chevrolet Impala LT front speakers not working

Hello! Whether your vehicle is premium or standard the wiring is almost the same...Both have a Left front Speaker and a Left Front Tweeter...You did not specify which speaker (Left Front ) wasn't working; However it really doesn't matter...Either the speaker is blown or the wiring has a poor connection or is broken (open)...Here are the wire colors...LF Door=Tan (+) and Gray (-)...
LF Tweeter=Tan (+) and Yellow (-)...The Yellow and Gray are tied together...Pop the speakers out using a thin blade screwdriver with the end taped...Visually inspect...If you have an ohm meter read across each speaker if good=2-8 ohms...If bad =open or 0 ohms...Guru...Saailer

Will i damage the stereo in my 2001 toyota sienna if i replace the stock 8 ohm speakers with 4 ohm speakers? the rear speakers are blown. if i can should i do all four? i happen to have four 4 ohm speakers

You can use the 4 ohm speakers if you don't get carried away and crank the volume all the way up. If you really crank it up there is the chance of doing damage to the stereo amplifier. 8 ohm speakers would of course be better, but if it was me I'd probably try it. No guarentees though!

I just replaced my blown sub in my Avalon xls with a Kicker 07C84 and it works great. For the same price of a repair kit, you can just buy this new speaker. Why go through the hassle of repairing a 9 year old speaker. This speaker fits into the same cutout of the old speaker. All I did was splice the red and black wires within the factory plastic housing so I could still use the factory connector.

2001 SAAB 93 Driver door speaker blown.

Stock was 4 ohms and that is what you want. Also, it is madbass only as the stock amp has a built-in low pass filter. To remove the panel, go to this site and follw the directions. This is for NG 900 but is totally applicable to the OG 9-3 you have.

Front speakers

either the wires in the boot where door folds open has broken wires in it or the most likely case you have 2 blown wolfers and 1 blown tweeter. common for cars with the monsoon stereo system, they made the radio better than the speakers.
