Water is leaking from the engine block rear freeze plugs, transmission will have to be remove to replace freeze plugs, there's two, I would also have the rear main seal replace at the same time, there there already, or if it starts to leak later, you will have to have the transmission remove again to replace seal, hope this was very helpful.

I have a 2003 Dodge Neon se there's a major oil leak between the engine and transmission how do I fix this

Check that the oil leak is not engine oil coming out before the bell housing ( sump gasket) If the oil is coming out of the bell housing inspection cover then it means box put and either flywheel off for a rear main seal or torque converter out for a seal in the box or converter.. If it is a sump or rear main seal check the engine oil level first and the PCV valve operation as excessive oil level and sump pressure will cause the engine side problems that you can fix without removing the box.

Leaking from the front of bellhouseing

Gday mate, geoff here, there are 3 things that can leak there, 1st is coolant as there should be a freeze plug at the back of each cylinder bank in there.
2nd engine oil as there is a seal on the crankshaft and a plug at the back of the Cam tunnel, mostly if its engine oil it will be the crank seal.
3rd is gear/transmission oil, front seal on the gearbox if that is the case, also make sure that the oil isn't coming from the top and leaking down to look like its the bell housing leaking, as the valley cover and rocker covers extend back to just above the bell housing, hope this helps, geoff.

Water leaking behind moter and i cant see were its coming from

If you have antifreeze leaking from what appears to be coming from the transmission bell housing, the leak is most likely (although possible) not at the rear of the engine.

There COULD be a freeze plug at the back side of the engine between the engine and transmission leaking. However, on the 4.6L engines, it is most commonly caused by either a water pump, heater hose, or intake manifold leaking at the FRONT of the engine.

Leaks in these areas will fill the area between the cylinder heads with coolant, which will run to the back of the engine and out the hole in the cylinder block that is located just above the transmission bell housing. This makes it LOOK like the leak is in the rear.

To verify this condition use a flashlight to look under the intake manifold just past the alternator. Sometimes it is also very helpful to remove the serpentine belt and remove the alternator (very easy to do) to verify that this is the problem.

Take a hard look at the coolant cross-over pipe on the front of the intake manifold assembly. These are notorious for leaking on both sides and VERY LIKELY to be leaking on the driver's side where the thermostat is located.

This problem is so common that an aftermarket company named DORMAN has come up with an aftermarket replacement intake manifold to correct the problem. The DORMAN part number for your vehicle is Part Number: 615-175 It is available at many aftermarket parts suppliers including AutoZone, O'Reilly's, and Advance, for around $230 (USD). I have a 1996 jeep cherokee 2wd 4.0L and it is leaking coolant quiet heavily from between where engine and trans meet. Top of the trans is dry. Coolant is coming from inside bell housing between engine and...

Yes, in back of your engine block, there two freeze plugs, these plugs hold water or coolant in the block, to replace these freeze plugs, transmission will have to be remove, if your going to get this done, I would also have the rear main seal replace at the same time, should not cost you much labor to do this, due to if it starts to leak oil from there in the future, transmission will have to come out again, this will save you money and time down the road, hope this was very helpful.

Leaking coolant from rear of engine is there a

No, that would probably be a freeze plug on the back of the block if the coolant is coming out between transmission bell housing and engine.

If you are ABSOLUTLY POSITIVE this is where the Coolant is coming from the ONLY Sorce is Freeze plugs ,There are Usualy 2 Behind the Flywheel. Sorry For the BAD NEWS but this IS the only thing that can Leak Out of the Bell Housing, Transmissiou Must Come Out and Flywheel also, Once The Flywheel is OUT you will see the FREEZE PLUGS. Antifreeze leak in back of engine

Sounds like your right rear freeze plugs are probably leaking .. but first you need to make sure its not coming from up around the rear of the intake before pulling the transmission . this would be the best way to fix this problem .. thanks jerry holler if you need more.
