Question about Chevrolet Silverado 1500

1 Answer

2006 Chevrolet Silverado left brake light consistenly burns out. The filament in the bulb is not the problem. The wire on the plug section of the bulb is burning up. This is my 4th brake light in 3 months that I have installed. There is absolutely no moisture getting to the plug either. Has anyone else had this issue or does anyone have any ideas? Ken

1999 Dodge Ram 1500 - Right rear tail light won't burn for tail lights alone, but will still blink for turn signal and light up for brakes. Bulb was replaced with no effect. Left still works.

The bulb has two filaments; one for brakes and turn signal, the other for tail lights. One filament is probably burned out. Replace the bulb with a new one

My brake light works but the parking light on the back passenger side does not could it be a fuse or something else? And anyone know what fuse is for the parking lights?

Many vehicles employ bulbs with one and two filaments. Single filament bulbs are used for reverse lights, marker light, etc. Two filament bulbs have a heavier or thicker filament that produces a brighter light - typically for brakes or turn signal and a lighter or thinner filament that produces a dimmer light - ideal for "parking lights" (or other "always on" light). Chances are that the lamp that is lacking a parking light has a thin filament that has simply burned out. Any auto parts store should have a book or someone that can tell you the lamp you need based of your vehicle year, make and model.

/'left front turn signal works but not when headlights are on

1. check your turn signal light bulbs to see if one is burned out or partly burned out. One filament may be broken. Do it with lights on and off. Check brake lights. If one not working that is the problem bulb. Check front and back lights.

2. replace your turn signal flashers in fuse panel

Have a 2006 Chevy Silverado. The left brake light keeps shorting out. Turning light OK.

check the contacts in the socket itself, with the newer tail light and brake light bulbs and the thin wire they use for contacts, any dark or slightly burned areas will cause the bulbs to burn out prematurely

Have a 2003 Chevrolet silverado, right rear tail light does not burn when lights are on, this light will burn when brake is applied or when turn signal is used. What is the problem and how can it be fixed?

There are 2 filiments in the light bulb. One is for running lights and the other is for brake and turn signal lights. Simply replace the bulb and you should be ok.

Left blinker flash fast, hit brake left blinker goes out left taillight goes out but both backup lights come on

Usually a fast flashing signal is because one of the bulbs is burned out or shorted out. If the signal and brakes use the same light which many cars do then check the wiring to it and replace bulb. If burns out again then it has a short between the signal switch and the actual light or the brake wiring to it is shorted.

Left signal blinking, left brake light not workking

It seems the bulb for your car has 2 elements/filaments, meaning the bulb does the duty of turn signal and brake signal. The brake element/filament is probably broken, and not the turn signal element/filament. Replace the bulb with same model as broken one. Hope this helps.
