Question about 1995 Acura Legend

1 Answer

I have a 1995 Acura GS Sedan with 160,000 miles and the dealer can't fix my car. The car has a constant miss and hesitation on accleration. The dealer said they suspect bad coil intermittently and to replace coil packs. I replaced all (6) coil packs with OEM coils myself and it did NOT fix the problem. Took the car back to the dealer and they said they don't have a SCOPE machine to diagnosis the problem and recommended I visit a Smog repair shop. I then brought the car to a Independent Repair facility who does Smog repairs and now they can't find the problem as well. They now want me to replace all (6) Platinum plugs and then bring it back to them. I'm a very loyal Acura fan, but it looks like I will need to contact Acura Consumer hotline to see why they couldn't fix my car. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Roger Tomczak

Take the car back to the dealer and ask to speak to the area rep about the issue. that should get something done.

Radio code for 1995 acura lehend gs

Sadly:
There is only 2 options.

1. Your radio code is in your paperwork for your car (Its on a hard plastic card) Find it.

2. Take your registration to Vin and Ser Number for your radio to your local dealer.

These codes are a guarded secret and no one code fits all.

Hope this tip helps guide you in the correct direction to solve this problem.

Try replacing spark plug wires. Probably one grounding out sometimes.

1989 Acura Integra that hesitates after driving.

Sounds a lot like your spark plaugs / leads are havign some trouble conducting.

Spark plugs and leads sound be changed every 12500 miles (spark) / 40000 miles (leads).

If they are nearing the end of their life you will get this hesitation.

Also a good thing to check is your distributor cap. I had a similar issue with my integra where it would bunny hop unless i absolutely planted my foot down.

I pulled off the distributor cap and cleaned the pins on the inside of the cap (flat head screw driver and scrapped away all of the built up carbon) Once i had done that (and replaced my leads and plugs the car went back to smooth riding all of the time.

Hesitation / missing / car shakes

Hello;
The problem is most likely break down of the spark plug wires. The demands on the spark during acceleration and load destroy the wires as they age. I would start there. Hope this helps.
Thanks;
