Hi! Only one thing can cause this. The problem will be on the source actuator. The source actuator kicks the idle up when a/c is turned on. No wonder the engine stalls. Ask for a source actuator (also known as idle actuator or idle up) on the auto parts store and you can replace it by yourself. The source actuator is just 1 inch in size connected with 2 vacuum hose lines. You can find it under the hood on the firewall near where the brake fluid reservoir seats. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

I have a 2002 suzuki vitara. It starts and runs fine but when I slow down to stop it will sputter and then stall. ANy ideas?

If you haven't done so recently, you may want to install a new air filter. Lack of enough air to the engine can cause similar symptoms as lack of enough fuel. The air in very important to the engines performance

If that doesn't fix your problem you may want to have your, " Idle air control valve." looked at.
This part generally costs between $50 and $80 on most vehicles.

Good luck!

Your alternator is starting to go. Go to Advance Auto Parts/ AutoZone/ Pep Boys and have them do a "charging system check" - they'll tell you whether your alternator or battery is to blame (for free).

My suzuki vitara has check engine light on and is ok for water and i put oil into it as seemed bit low, but it wont start at all. pls help

Check if there's a spark in the cable going to the distributor. If there's none then you may have a problem in the ignition system components. A defective air flow sensor can also cause a no start. If spark is present, you may want to visit the fuel system of your car.

1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara won't start. It started but stalls then will just crank but not catch, or if it catches again it stalls.

Install a good fast idle valve and see if this will solve the problem. If not, try replacing the mass air flow sensor.

VTEC 1.8 135K. Starts OK but feels lumpy from cold - almost like its not firing on all four. Once it warms up a bit the tickover when stationary drops to virtually zero (sometimes stalls), once fully warm...

1. My suspicion is your electronic ignition
2. If your car is a bit old, there might be a leak through your valves
3. Distributor timing gear is damaged (replace)
