Question about 1991 Ford Mustang

1 Answer

The headlights in my 1991 Mustang stopped working. The parking lights and others work fine. Fuse #4 (the one the diagrams point to for headlights) isn't the problem.

Hi sd you have checked the fuses then you can rule out that being the fault, now the chances of both bulbs failing is slim but it does happen from time if the one blows then this can cause power surge to the other and cause it to blow, how ever i think the problem you are having is going to be with the switch itself the part you turn to turn the lights on.
These tend to wear and then the connection fails and this stops the lights coming on so for now i would say the switch needs replacing.

hope fully that should solve your problem, i would go with the switch first and if that dont solve the problem you can take it back and get your money back, but the chances are changing the switch will solve your problem.

But before you buy anything check the wires going to the head lights if one of these has come out then this will cause both sides to go off so have a close look at the wires and have a play around with them so that you can check the connection is good. give them a good wiggle whilst the switch is on the on position then if wiggling them solves the problem you may need to get new connectors fitted but if it makes no difference then the next thing to do is replace the switch that operates the lights.

let me know if you need further assistance and ill be glad to offer you further assistance ok

Did you check the park fuse, or the orange wire going into the headlight switch for power ?

Can't get headlights to work on 1991 Buick Park AVE Ultra. All parking lights work fine.

So you have tested nothing.
Headlights don't usually have relays, just a circuit breaker in the light switch.
As I suggested,no one knows your problem, you need to actually start to do something. Get to the light switch and do some testing with a meter. It is either working or it isn't. If it is good then you could use a wiring diagram to continue on,or have a shop do this for you.

1994 grand Am Dash & Rear Lights

Check all the fuses, if they're ok then check the switch or wiring, it might be that the wire running from the switch to the park / dash lights is fried. Does the front park lights work? (turn switch to first click, not second one. This is park lights, second click is full on headlights) Your park and dash lights are probably all connected to a single wire from the switch via the fuse box.

02 buick century headlights won't come on all other lights work.

Look in the fuse box. The cover should tell you with fuse is related to the headlights. That fuse might be a good place to start.

Headlights don't work at all, but all other lights work fine.

If u have been jumping wires and such u may have burnt out a circuit, the next thing to test is the headlight swith, pull it out and look for overheated terminas and any melting of the connector to it, replace both connector and switch as ness.
