Question about Ford Five Hundred
If thats your low side pressure, and you dont have a high side gauge, thats only checking half the system.
If you using one of the cheap gauges that come from places like walmart and parts stores, as part of a can or kit, they arent that acurate, and you cant get a true picture without a set of manifold gauges.
If the system is not operating, add a little more refrigerant, and read the gauge with the can turned off, and the compressor running; you want to get the pressure around 30-40 degrees (depending on outside temp and humidity) while the compressor is running.
if system is ok, as you add a lil at a time, the low side pressure will come down as the system runs, if it does not come down below 50 while running you may be overcharged or have a block in the system, or a bad compressor
