If battery and alternator were tested and good then the wiring in back of the alternator must be caked with corrosion or the battery cables are full of resistance.

99 maxima v6 3000. Runs great once running. Lots of power and pep. The problem is getting it started. Even with a charger hooked to the battery when cranking the engine over it jerks and skips like it...

I would say either a worn out distributor, or stretched timing belt will cause those issues. Once running the computer compensates for the timing slop.

How do I jump start my car

You can use a jump box or another car. Using another car while running hook the red cable of the jumper cables to the positive battery terminals on each car. Hook the black cable to the negative battery terminals on each car. Now try and start the car with the dead battery.

How much freon does a1999 chevy tahoo holds with rear air

There should be a sticker near the accumulator around the firewall or on the fan shroud. Maybe the hood.
I would start with 3 or 4 cans and add as needed. It makes a difference if you vac the system before charging.
You will need to bypass the low pressure switch to make the compressor run during the first couple of cans.

My 2003 chevy tahoe won't start in the morning

Many possible causes....Too little info to make an intelligent suggestion. Try charging the problem vehicle's battery with jumper cables for 2 minutes with the supply vehicle running at fast idle (or about 1500-2000 RPM, if it is tachometer equipped) before you try to crank the problem vehicle on a cold morning. If it starts right up, you likely have a weak battery that needs replacing.

Hi, I have a 2008 Pontiac G5 and I accidentally kept the lights on all day. Since I only have a positive (red) connection, I ground the negative connection to metal as well as the other car negative...

sounds like you are on the right track. Hook the jumper cables up to the dead car first. The red cable should go to the jumper terminal as you mentioned and a good place to hook up the black cable is the bolts on the strut tower.

then with the other car running hook up the red lead to the cars positive battery cable and then the negative to a good ground. Let the two cars sit for about 5 to ten minutes to give the dead battery a chance to charge.

Once the dead car is started let it idle with the lights turned off for at least 45 minute to an hour or drive it for the same amount of time with the light on (I assume you will be driving in the dark) or if its day time drive it for 30 to 40 minutes with the lights off. This should be enough time for the alternator to charge the dead battery.

I have a 2001 alero with a manual transmission. My battery is dead and I am wondering if I can jump start it or will the security system not allow it? I tied it once but it didnt start.

You should be able to jump start it, make sure that your battery cables are tightly connected to that battery. Then hook up that positive battery cable on the car that is running then the positive on the battery you are jump starting then hook up the negative cable on the car running then the negative to the dead car. If your connections are good when you hook up the last connection you should be able to see a little spark, and hear a hissing or popping noise. Leave it hooked up for at least 5 minutes before you try and crank it. If it then cranks and then just clicks you need a better connection between the jumper cables. If you get nothing it might be your starter if you are getting headlights, and a radio working. If nothing works there is a bad wire somewhere.

2007 Chevy Tahoe - noticed headlight flicker then shortly thereafter vehicle will not start. Have checked the battery and alternator both are fine. When trying to start there is a clicking noise that...

Either the alternator is not charging the battery or you have a draw that is draining the battery. The alternator must have power to the field coil and a good connection from the charge terminal to the battery in order to charge. You can confirm the batrery is charging by checking the voltage at the battery with the engine running. Voltage should be at least 13.5vdc. If yes, see dead battery section at link below.
