I have a 97 Mitsubishi lancer mivec... There is a crossover when it hits mivec bbut not much of a boost out of it

Care of Wikipedia! MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system)[1] is the brand name of a variable valve timing (VVT) engine technology developed by Mitsubishi Motors. MIVEC, as with other similar systems, varies the timing of the intake and exhaust camshafts which increases the power and torque output over a broad engine speed range while also being able to help spool a turbocharger more quickly.

Problems with suzuki

IF the suzy engine has variable valve control V VT or mivec or what ever it is for a suzy It will be a toss up but for my money I would pick the mitsi engine as they have been developed for off road racing

Lost power in celsior v8

what country
4.0 L 1UZ-FE V8 its a fuel injected V8. used in Lexus LS400s in USA.
i restore old cars and 1990 is old.
lost power can be misfire , does it do that hot /cold or both engine temp? loss power, under what coolant temps.
so if the tranny dont slip or brakes drag. (car rolls easy) then
the engine is sick , this is an EFI engine.
on all old engines. Get a real FSM, for sure.!!!
  1. check compression, first. 150psi or more. good on all 8 (W.O.T)
  2. tune it up, wires plugs, cap ,rotor.. filters. (all)
  3. Ignition timing: 8 -12deg BTDC @ idle (Transmission in neutral position)? 1-8-4-3-6--7-2, firing order sparks wired right?
  4. I then make sure fuel pressure is at spec,
  5. at the same time. the classic injector leak down test.
  6. at the same time, the classic, injector balance test.
  7. With all that good the EFI system has hope.
  8. I then check the ECU for DTC errors, (flash codes )an address all those.
  9. the eng. thermostat get to 180F or more fast and holds !!!
  10. if clean the MAF a dirty MAF, will cause lean and lean causes bogging and huge loss of engine power
  11. does the engine hold closed loop. at idle and at 2500 rpm in neutral (hot engine) id bet not.
  12. no scan tools so all you have is a blinking CEL lamp test so do that check. The check jumper wire.
  13. on these old dogs, i must check every sensor by hand due to no SCAN tools in 1990
  14. thats enough, for now. I see wasted spark coil packs, got misfire?

Throttle actuator

What wire are you reading 15 volts on? The ye/wh wire on pin 2 should read 5 volts, and the pk/og on pin 3 should have good ground. pins 1 and 4 should work opposite as the throttle plate moves (pin one ye/we voltage goes up on the way to WOT, pin 4 gr/wh voltage goes down on the way to WOT If you're getting anything higher than a 5 volt reference, check for a short to voltage from another wire in the harness. If that is no good, check the pin out from the ECM directly and see it it is pushing out too much on the reference wire

1997 honda crv. wont start

which engine??????????????????
one of those is false. i bet. ever the the 60k mile tune up this decade ? Yes, good, no?, well, what did you expect?
driving honda's top death is just that....see end. below.

my guess is you are doing one test wrong. , (i cant see you, so...)
THE ROPES: (called basics ) order counts big time.

1-good engine? (compression at 150psi or more x4? or x6 if V6.
2-good spark at all cyl. and timing right. check timing.
if timing of spark is way off the cam belt slipped, no service ever done is cause.
3-good fueling, it runs. (if not flooded (is it) test fuel does work here.
in this step.

turns off driving, but how did you do that, if it wont start?????
my guess is the stalls were the preamble to the end death

exceptions, to above. ( 1st CAT ,is rare)
1: CAT melted. (there is a cheap simple test ,ask)
2: ISC stuck closed, (Aka; iAC electric) use 10% throttle to mimic this bad part and car starts easy , this trick is in the operators manual.
3: EGR stuck wide open, see 10% above, trick. or clean it.
4: engine flooded, see opr. guide for WOT cranking
you crank at WOT. wide open throttle, and EFI cuts all fuel, clearing
the flood.
so, do you look at spark tips for BAD COLOR or soaking wet with fuel.
Look at them. (they speak volumes)

old spark plates and winter hate each other..
do the full tune up, filters ,cap rotor, wires and plugs. and magic happes, and if the timing belt is old, BOOM
the HONDA IS NOT FREE RUNNING at all.
that means ,skip belt service, a $25 belt can wreck the whole engine.
or at the least just bent valves,
on this engine, my cylinder leak down tool comes out 1st.
(your symptoms)

Susuki esteem TPS

old post.
they used 2 engines, one is 1.6L and 1.8L other.
so my guess, is , that
car starts ok. hot or cold engine.
and
car has no power at WOT, (it wont be the TPS)
Is the check engine light on, key on, and does it stay off running?
if not the ECU/PCM (enginebrain) wants to tell you what is wrong
why not ask it.?
ok there are 3 forms of power loss (engine power)
1: WOT, wide open throttle (on most cars that is the MAF sensor)
2: cruising say,at 45mph that too is MAF + oxy sensor.
3: accelerating only, the TPS does cause Enriich mode.
if not , then the TPS is dead.

Lancer mivec 1.6 loses power at just over 5000rpm oil is fine, engine is warm

Check your oil pressure. Common problem to all 2nd gen MIVEC engine is in its oil sump. A dent could restrict the flow of the engine oil and will cause the engine pressure to drop whenever the MIVEC starting to kick. A low pressure means that the MIVEC system will not activate, hence the low power and no MIVEC "sound".
