Does the driving on overdrive mode cause high fuel consumption, because the transmission use the first three ratios mostly?

Driving in overdrive, say on a trip where your speeds are over 65 to 70..Actually saves gas, but using overdrive to drive around town not only uses more gas, but can cause damage to your transmission.

Excessive Gasoline consumption after replacement of timing -belt

Even tho they are a certified garage they may have the cam timing off one or two teeth. I assume the check engine light is not on.
I also assume the belt did not break before you had it replaced.
I would take it back to the shop and tell them to check the cam timing.

My car is burning too much fuel. Average consumption is 8km/L. I've changed its filters but no use. Please advise an appropriate solution.

Depending on where you are, fuel prices have gone up but little can be said for the quality, especially if you are not using premium, either way, have your injectors cleaned, make sure they remove them and they do not do a in car clean, you will be surprised at the responsiveness and the fuel consumption but keep in mind it will never be like new, just like us :)

I have a TOYOTA SPRINTER AE110 1999,with 33,000 km running it is a auto matic car...it does only 8km per 1liter.....what could be the reason for that? some people say AE110 do 13km per 1liter even in city...

Lots of things involved to save your gas cost.Move anything that is not necessay in the car.Pick up the speed gradually.Use natual aircondition by opening the window a little bit.Regular cleaning of the air filter and fuel filter.Pump up the tyre to the right pressure.Walking if you have time.

Once the fuel light comes on,approx how much fuel or km would you still have left

Dear Sir,
At moment the fuel light (reserve light) is on you have 5 to 6 liter in tank, if you are getting an average of 8km/l then you can easily reach 40km from that moment.thanks.

Fuel consumption 1998 carb. 2.6 4x4 isuzu

I would not really recommend buying a petrol engined Isuzu if you are thinking about fuel consumption.I think you will be lucky to get 8km/l and thats being generous.Rather go for a turbo diesel with around the same capacity and you should get between 12-14km/L.

Fuel consumption problem

Change your air filter if it hasn't been changed recently. Spark plugs, plug wires and fuel filter can also make a difference.
