If you have a cover remove it( i personaly would through it away), disconnect the cabels, remove the mount that holds the battery in place, remove the old battery and then reverse all steps only with the new battery

Need to change battery cables in a 2006 Dodge durango

Are you sure you need to replace the entire cable or just replace the terminals that the cable is connected to?The terminals may be worn out and loose which leads to corrosion. Simply go to an auto parts store and buy the appropriate terminals and replace them. You can also get a wire brush to clean the cables before installing the new terminals. Also there are some corrosion protectors that help aid in corrosion.

Starting problems dodge durango 2006

for one, your starter / solonoid unit is in need of attention, even replacement ! it stays engaged, hanging up, solonoid could be going bad, replace the entire unit. check the positive & negative battery cables sometimes they need replaced ! think about it, a cable as big as they are, you would'nt think they would need replaced , but maybe they do ??? just a thought ! alwasy clean battery terminals , put vaseline on them before reconnecting the terminals, it will keep them clean & corrosion free ! clean off battery also, remember its acid, so don't get any on your clothes !

CHECK TO SEE IF YOU HAVE POWER TO SMALL WIRE ON STARTER WHILE TRYING TO CRANK IT. IF YOU HAVE POWER, THAN SUSPECT STARTER. TRY TAPPING STARTER WITH HAMMER, THIS SOMETIMES WORKS.
