Question about 1997 Ford Explorer AWD
The catalytic converter is the hotest component on a vehicle during operation. I have seen them hot enouigh to glow at night but that was after some hard runs/racing. However, if the vehicle is driven regularly it should not get hot enough to glow. Possible cause would be running to rich "they are designed to burn off excessive fuel"
