Question about Pontiac Vibe

1 Answer

I have a 2003 Pontiac Vibe (91,000 miles) that wouldn't start when I went out to go to run my next errand... just clicking sound when I turned the key. Just put a new serpentine belt on and everything checked out fine. Been traveling for several hundred miles on new belt with no problems. Just can't start my car now. A friend said it sounded like a starter problem due to the electric in the car was working fine and all of the cables were connected. You can here the flywheel moving but just a clicking sound in the starter. Please advise what to do that is my least expensive option.

Sounds like your battery might be low, A repeated clicking will indicate low battery, a single click would suggest really low battery or possibly starter motor bad.

Check engine light keeps coming on pontiac 2003 vibe

Have you gone any had it run for the codes? If so and everything has been fixed per what codes say and car is running well, make sure you drive the car continuously for at least 50 miles (highway is the easiest way to do it) to reset the computer to clear the light. If that doesnt work, get the codes run again.

Pontiac vibe 2003 cannot get out of park

Have someone check for the brake light when you are on the brake,
This will rule out a bad brake switch interlock and / or fuse.
=========
Take the key out Gently rock the steering and listen for a click (spring return)

=========
Put the key in and start the car Turn the steering wheel end to end and listen for any sound.

This rule out any steering issue.
========-
Check the plastic push button
Check the connector to the interlock under the shifter.

The gear shift will not come out of park, Pontiac Vibe 2003

there should be a cap that you can pop off with a key or small flat screwdriver next to the shift indicator next to the shift lever. lift the cap off and insert your key into the key hole you should be able to shift the lever now if the problem persists take your vibe into the dealer.
