DTC P0115 translates to "engine coolant temperature circuit. Have your temp. sensor checked for correct operation, then check for continuity in the wiring from the sensor to the ecu pinout

This indicates a open or short-circuit in the engine coolant temperature sensor circuit......

so, assuming that there has been no wiring work going on, or other problems...i would be replacing the coolant temp sensor, as required.

What do codes 20, 50, 52, 54, 56 mean?

Where did you get this codes from? They don't seem right, according to your Vehicle year you should have an OBD II computer and all the codes should start with a P###. Visit this site for more info.

Trouble code meanings for 2000 toyota avalon

the bank 1 is in the front of your car close to the radiator, the other one is the bank 2. I think you have to replace the bank 1 and bank 2 sensor and the po115 is the coolant temperature sensor, after you replace all these sensors and have the machanic reset or turn off the CHECK ENGINE light. check with the emmission inspector before you begin to replace all these parts. good luck

bank one is the bank closest to the firewall in the manifold but if you replace this one you should do the other or you will get a code for it not long from now because the new sensor will operate much better and faster

Warning light on dash what on..what does it mean

Hi Sneekygirl9!

The light you described is the "check engine" light, and it means that the on-board diagnostic (OBD) computer has detected a problem and set a "trouble code" in the computer memory. Some of these are minor, some are SERIOUS, and a few are just computer glitches.

The OBD either has detected a bad sensor or control circuit, or a sensor reading that is inconsistent (doesn't add up!) to the situation.

AutoZone, among other places, now offers free diagnostic scans, which is what you need to do! They will plug into your car's OBD-II diagnostic port, and the scanner will read the OBD's memory, and give a read out of what trouble code or codes have been set (example: P1536). They will then interpret the code by going to a chart specific to your vehicle and tell you what these trouble codes mean and hopefully point you in the right direction for fixing the problem. And they will also clear the OBD's memory, clearing the check engine light.

Sneekygirl9, I think this answers your question... and don't hesitate to post comments or ask for more help if you need, and let us know how it goes!

Thanks!
WildBill
