What kind of ac coolant does it have 134a or r 12 and where is the low pressure port for the ac located

Depends on the year. Cars in the early 90's used R12. Anything later uses R134a. The size of the charge ports will define the R134a port. An adapter is needed to fit on the charging hose. R12 requires no such adapter. Ther charging label under the hood will tell you what refrigerant is needed too. Since you failed to give enough information on what make and model car you have, a general answer for the location of the low pressure port will be given. On the compressor, the larger diameter hose connection is the low side. Connect there, or look for the drier/accumulator (Large diameter silver container near the firewall). Connect there. You will need to access the AC information label under the hood to determine how much freon to add to the system.

Can''t find a/c high pressure port 1989 bonneville 3.8v6

You don't charge with the hi side port. Use the low side on the accumulator. The hi side port is on the compressor if you want to connect a maniflod gauge set to it.

Im trying to recharge my ac in my 91 nissan pickup and im pretty sure i know where the lowside ac port is but the hose adapter from my recharge kit does not fit snugly on the fitting?

Your 1991 will have R12 refrigerant in it unless it has been retrofitted to the newer R134a refrigerant. If it is still factory original then you will need to retrofit it to the new refrigerant, or see if you can find some R12. R12 has been discontinued years ago and if you can find it it is very expensive.

What kind of refridgerant do you use for the air conditioner

in 93 you could have R12 or R134a ... R12 is now illegal to use for most cars .. so you would have to have your system retrofitted so it can use R134a ... you can see what kind you have by looking under the hood .. there should be a plaque that tells what kind and how much the system holds .. the R134a systems have a special larger filler port and that is easily recognized by anyone familiar with auto air conditioning .. so just a look will tell them ... R134a is known for slow leaks .. its a small molicule so leaks easily .. the compressor will stop when the pressure gets down too low ..thats to prevent damage .. for now anyone can purchase r134a and many people add it themselves but the law specifies that only certified people can do work on air conditioners .. R12 and R134a are not compatable so you cant mix them .. no matter what the only refridgerrant you can use is R134a ..

R134a recharger nozzle won't fit on low pressure service port.

The low pressure port on the 2003 grand am is actually behind the engine, near the firewall on the passenger side. Good luck getting your hose down there though, I ended up buying an extension hose.

My recharging kit for air conditioner doesn't seem to fit recharge valve on 2004 dodge durango. How can I be sure i am looking at the low prerssure valve?

Newer vehicle come with R134 vs R12. Since the two are not compatible, R134 has larger fittings. AC system has two ports, High and Low. Low is return to AC Compressor and high is output. High port is first following line from compressor to condenser (condenser is at front of vehicle like a second radiator). Keep following line till you find high port (paint cap red). Second port is low (paint cap blue).

Air Conditioning in my PT Cruiser stopped working...

probably low on...no, not coolant! The AC system is separate from the coolant system. The AC needs to be recharged with
R134A, a special refrigerant used only for air conditioning, much like the old Freon or R12 it replaced. R12 was bad for ozone depletion, so about 20 years ago the federal government mandated a change to R134A.
Just go to a shop and tell the service people you may need the AC system recharged.

Does it have a cycling low pressure switch in the low side line? If so remove it and charge through that port.
