I just got a quote from a radiator shop in Atlanta for a Subaru, blown head gasket, they wanted $1300 complete. Foe one side, I put in a newer engine for $900 plus our time. Runs great.

What is the correct way to put a new head gasket on a d15b7 engine honda block?

By using a repair manual. Removing and replacing a
head gasket can be done but you need the step by step
instructions, which are numerous. Also try and buy
the parts from Honda. May come in a kit form.

1192 Honda Civic Head gasket service was performed. what would the appox cost of the gasket be and how many labor hours should it take

Was performed? if you had it done, you already know what the cost was ? right? The cost depends on what it takes to make it right, Head work, gaskets, oil, coolant, thermostat, misc parts. maybe $1000 , plus timing belt, plus what made the head gasket bad in the first place? overheated?

Need to install head gasket on 86 honda accord .Is it worth the effort

Only if the rest of the car is in good (perfect) condition. If not then I would not replace the head gasket. Head gaskets dont just go bad, overheating is what causes the gasket failure, then the head will be warped and need to be repaired/ straightened, Then you will need to fix why it overheated in the first place.
