Yuo need a OBD2 scanner. this is the only way. Some auto parts store have them and will read and erase your codes for you. The CHEAPEST scanner is around $100 and isn't worth much.

Repalce egr and engine light still on

OBD II needed to reset and erase the codes. they will go out after a large number of uses. but for about $50 you can buy an OBD 2 for you car and plug it in under your dash usually and reads the code and tells you whats wrong and what sensors are showing up. also can erase the codes and turns out the engine light . PS if your going to inspect your car. Once you erase the codes you`ll need to drive your car for 80 to100 miles for the computer to reconfigure itselt for the engine performance. otherwise the inspection will read computer not ready na dyou`ll fail inspection.

How check the check engine manual for buick 2003

Stop by an Auto Parts Store and they should have an OBD2 scanner that they will "lend" you. This scanner will tell you a CODE which in turn tells you what the problem MIGHT be. It is not 100% correct but is usually a pretty good indication. Reset or erase the codes and see if the check enigne light comes back on. If it does, rescan for CODES to see if you are getting the saem one(s). Good Luck .. . .

My airbag light is on dash board. Can it be reset?

You don't reset check lights, what your doing
is erasing all data, if you use a code reader, scan tool
or disconnect the battery.

You need that data & the codes stored, to find the cause
of the failure in the effected system

Anytime you start your engine, all the dash lights & symbols should
go out,if not you have something wrong & a repair to be made

The codes don't tell you what is wrong, they are for an experienced
mechanic with other reference material for your car

How to reset trouble codes

You will need to purchase a trouble code reader/eraser. Keep in mind, once you erase a DTC, the code will always come back if the PCM recognizes a hard fault code. This is a reminder that the vehicle needs attention. This reader/eraser is available at ant well supplied auto parts store for around $40.00.

How to reset the check engine on a 208 chevy

Just disconnect the battery (negative terminal) and turn the headlight switch on for about 15 minutes. This should reset the PCM. Otherwise go to Advance and have them hookup the code reader and reset the codes. Thanks

How do I turn off the 1993 toyota camry check engine light?

if the problem goes away on it's own, the light will turn off. Otherwise you'll need to bring it to a car shop where they can scan it to retrieve the codes and reset it for you. If you have an OBD-II scanner, you can reset it yourself
