You need proper fuel, spark, and compression. spray some starting fluid in carbuator will trying to start. if vehicle runs when sprayed and does not when, not sprayed. then its likely there is no fuel reaching engine. in any case. find the part that does not work and go from there. check fuel filter for clogging, and make sure fuel pump is working!

on the 3.8 liter look on the passenger side of the engine back by the fire wall. You will need a flashlight as it is tucked under there a ways but you will see it.

My 97 buick lesabre custom was running fine but going down the road it wouldnt move. the engine was still going...We bought this from someone who had it parked for about 5 months.. please tell me its not...

You had it checked out before you bought it ? Right? It may be simple, but sure sounds trans related. You did check all fluids before you drove away with it? Trans fluid level okey? Here are the rules. Buy a three year old car. Drive it ten years. You got it backwards. You bought it from the guy who got it right and sold at year 13.
