Floats come as part of a carburetor kit from your local parts store, if that's what you're looking for. Try Pep Boys, Advance Auto, Autozone, or other aftermarket auto parts stores.

My jeep also runs out of gas around the 1/8th tank needle line and i dont know if happens only when low but when i make a right turn my motor wants to cut out do i have a gas float problem or a thrott

you definitely have a float/sender issue. this is going to require some facts about your jeep and some research. jeep put different sending units and instrument gauges in same year vehicles so find out what capacity tank you have. also test the operation of the gauge and sender before re-installing the tank

My gas gauge does not work even though the gas tank was replaced

The gas tank has nothing to do with the gauge. The fuel pump float could be stuck or the slide could have been bent when the pump was put back in. Also, the electrical connector could be unplugged or sot fully connected. This happens when someone pulls the wire instead of the plug.

My jeep will only start if a press the gas

if it's fuel injected then you have a sensor problem or the electric fuel pump is not fully functioning? if carbureted, then the float bowl/throttle valve is stuck?

What is a float in a 1993 jeep cherokee?

Float in the tank for the gas gauge?

Fuel gauge

Well, your fuel gauge can be stuck at the 3/4 mark. Or you bent it while installing it, causing a wrong reading.

Take out the fuel pump and ensure when the float is at the empty position your gauge is at E. If not adjust it properly. Also make sure your connections are correct. You said you swith the wires, don't see how they only go one way unless you have the nut and screw type.

Again, I think you bent it while installing it.. Also make sure you put the pump in correctly, you could have installed it the wrong way not letting the float ..............float!
