the first place to start is the flashing engine lite. that means cylinders are not firing at all or improperly and driving it like that for even short period could cause heavier damage. particularly valves and cat converter(s) the computer really needs to be scanned for codes in order to proceed. did the oil lite come on before or after engine quit. after engine quit would be normal cause it stalled. its possible that it needs spark plugs and/or coils. or more

SOURCE: service vehicle soon light
Do all your exterior lights work. Including the daytime running lights. This is the service vehicle soon light and not the service engine soon light? Does the service engine light come on when you turn the key on? The service vehicle light will also stay on if the service engine light is burnt out.

Replace the driver side valve cover. It leaks internally into the pcv system and gets burned. you don't see much smoke because the catalytic convertors burn it up.

SOURCE: Water in front differential
The dealership is trying to get out pf paying for the problem. I'm not going to say this is a common problem but it does seem to happen a lot. The axle seals leak quite frequently also the pinion seal leaks. There might be also be a problem with the vent, the hose could have came loose or hole in it. There is also an oring seal around the filler hole that may not have been installed properly.
If the dealership fails to help you call the GM customer assistance center and lodge a complaint. Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center 1-800-222-1020
