Probably a bad gas cap. replace it and see what happens. That's what mine was.

Have a code scan done (most larger parts outlets do that free) likely you have a bad O2 sensor but without testing, it really could be just about anything.

Water causes corrosion and leaves salts. Clean all the electrical contact and apply contact lube. That includes spark plug wires. If that has a distributer cap, clean that. You don't want any residual vapor.
Then see if any of the plugs are fouled out.
If not, then check air mass sensor for water or oil residue fouling. Clean as necessary.

Your chevy venture will run for a long time as long as you pay attention to the maintence schedule .

Know issues are intake manifolds leaking coolant.

Jeep GCL Backfires Stalls

Aaron, I had the same problem. It is the most expensive part of course the computer. I replaced everything as well till I replaced it. They are remanufactured and have had problems with them as well. I am on my third one now at 200k miles. Oh and by the way it does not show up on the diagnostic check. Good luck

I have a car in the shop right now same thing - it is being caused by a misfire. Need a real technition to diagnose the problem (auto zone - advance auto can't diagnose the problem - only read the code)
mine was caused by a failing fuel injector. good luck
